Post Sirius Baseband v0.0.0?

This is the baseband listed when I check for updates using MSS.

The application firmware is updated to v1.4.1, but shouldn't the baseband have an update too? why v0.0.0?

Is this the reason why it doesn't detect my s50's esn# or a satellite antenna signal when docked (car or home)

anyone care to help? anyone?

Ditto. I'm having the same issue.

My player lasted all of three hours, and doesn't seem to "see" the antenna(s), which were working fine.

I did the "3-finger salute", and the firmware version still shows as v0.0.0 for the baseband.

What's up with that?

Is this that difficult of a question? Does anyone reply on this forum?

I would connect it to MSS software and update it again.

Thanks. I will try again. I did the 3-finger salute twice, and it still shows that in MSS. And I did put the files for the firmware (S50main.mi4), default software(zip), and Gen3fw.rom in the C: root directory.

I think the antenna jack on the unit may have shorted out (since neither the car or home antenna are seen), and I suspect with no signal, it displays the v.0.0.0.

Sorry for the Grumpy post.

You are allowed to be grumpy when your product isn't working correctly.

Let us know how it goes and we'll do our best to get you going again.

Is the radio working correctly?

I wonder if going back to a previous version of the firmware would move up the baseband. I think Droobie posted the 1.2 version somewhere. I might have it someone too. After the baseband moves up then go back to the latest firmware.

Is this really an issue? If the radio is working don't worry about it.

My radio is not working at all.

If I can find the v1.3.15 firmware, I will try that.

It's Zipped up here

There were other files for the car dock as well in this release if you don't want them, just don't put those in the root directory.

Well, I called the Sirius S50 support line, and after a 20-minute wait, I got someone who took my information, went away for a while, and came back and told me the unit was defective. She then gave me the number for the e-commerce Dept (I bought it online thorough the AAA/Sirius program). I got a live person (within a minute) at the ecommerce Department number, who gave me a RMA number and said that I need to ship everything back. As soon as I provide them with a tracking number, they will ship me a replacement unit right away. They even credit your Sirius Account with the cost of shipping?

(It's too bad I can't walk in, since I'm less than 20 minutes away from the address to ship it back to).

So, in spite of all the horror stories I've seen here, I did get a positive reaction to their tech support.

cmike0303, I'm sorry I sorta hijacked your thread. (I searched the threads before I posted). Since you have the same problem, your unit may be defective as well. Give the S50-specific support line a call at 1-800-869-5364 and see what they say.....

No problem...I'm just glad to see that this got some response...

anyways...my solution?

I exchanged it!

I now have a new unit...but I have to admit, there is definitely some hesitation when I power it up in my car...so far so good!
