Default Memory Full Problem

I was having trouble playing recorded and recording new songs. I updated the firmware/software and this wiped out the 80+ songs I had stored.

But it did allow me to record new songs and they played great.

However after about 21 new songs it said I couldn't record anymore "memory full"

Memory usage was at 90%. All I have are songs - everything else seems empty.

I deleted all songs and now the memory usage says 87%.

I apologize in advance if there is already a thread out here with this problem -but I did search and couldn't find one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How did you delete?

Go into MSS and look to see if the songs still exist. I remember issues where if you delete them with the S50 or deleted them in the playlist it really did not delete them. You had to go into MSS click on the S50 and in the list of file on the screen highlite them and press the delete key.

Also I remember the %full is not accurate.

If all else fails, you have to go and do a reset to factory defaults which will erase everything. You can then copy over mp3 and wma files. Recorded content is gone for good. This is just one of the features we lived with over the year.

If there is recorded content you want, you need to re-record it by playing it into your PC and using a product like total recorder record it as an MP3. In this way you will can save it on disk or burn to CD.

The MSS showed only the two new songs I added since deleteing via the S50 menu (not in MSS).

I just restored to factory settings and the memory usage now says 0%. So I think that did the trick. Thanks for the help!

You know I did look for that, but It seems to be missing.

Nevermind, I see it. But's it was not available under the delete content sub-menu. Just under the content managment main menu.

Thanks for taking the time to help.
