Default S50 warranty question

I've had my sirius radio for about 10 months. It worked fine for about 3 months. Then I started having problems with it when it was plugged into the radio dock. It always worked fine in my home dock. But in the radio dock there were just random problems and it was always freezing up.

A couple months ago I pushed the passenger seat up and it slammed into the s50 radio dock breaking the two prongs that help fasten the S50 in place. With the prongs broken the S50 still plugged in but it wasn't as secure. The S50 still worked though for about a month and then all of sudden when plugged into the car dock it would either freeze up or i would get a no signal or a first boot error. Now it doesn't work in the car dock at all. It has worked in the home dock fine. I'm not sure if the broken prongs have anything to do with it or if my s50 has just decided it doesnt want to work in the car dock anymore.

this is my question though. If i send back my radio and car dock to sirius will they honor the warranty? I can't see them looking at the broken prongs on the car dock and not considering it user negligence or whatever.

am I better off just trying to purchase another car dock for the s50 and then if there is something actually wrong with the actual unit then going through the warranty process?

Tough question... I know most warranties don't cover physical damage. Also, keep in mind that if you send it in it's going to be months before you get it back. Might be worth just spending $100 on a new unit and having it over with. Also, don't forget to buy the extended, in-store warranty!

Another reason for the extended warranty. Slight physical damage like yours would rarely (if ever) be noticed while doing a BB or CC exchange.

PAY ATTENTION, anyone reading these forums and contemplating a purchase. It boggles my mind that ANYONE perusing this forum would buy a Sirius receiver (at least a pricey one) on line or without an extended warranty.
