Default Line Out Woes

Howdy All

I've been a subscriber since March 05 and have been using the Sportster Replay and the LINE OUT to go directly into the amps in my truck; bypassing any preamp or radios like other installations.

For Christmas, I got an S50 and am really diggin it. I thoroughly read through all the complaints everyone had about this unit and I ordered it anyway. Its kind of like a Microwave.. it does a really good job as long as you don't ask it to do anything it wasn't designed for.

That being said, after doing an install, I noticed one problem. Where the Sportster Replay had a true line level output, the S50 doesn't. The audio level coming out of the LINE OUT jack is just too loud and on the lowest setting (besides mute) its still too loud for a sleeping baby. The lowest S50 volume setting is comparable to 66% volume on the Sportster Replay.

For the time being, I've been using the radio in my truck, but since the radio doesn't have pre-outs and my subwoofer doesn't get any love, using the radio isn't an option. I'm looking for some kind of headphone -> line level adapter / kit or even just a simple in-line volume knob. My only reservation about a volume knob is that in the past, the ones I've used were staticy and that would be bad for my amps

Thanks for any help you guys can come up with, I greatly appreciate it
