It was I - and while there's an improvement I would say my S50 is properly working 50% of the time, i.e. moving the antenna helped a little but there is still a bug.

I can't tell you how many times I've read this and folks are so resistent to just try to swap out the antenna. However, the forum is full of folks that when they did suddenly that 50% of the time goes to 100%. Why not just try it and if it doesn't work, well at least you tried. Just to say I don't think it is that is what so many others have done and they just remain in the problem. These antennas in my opinion have often times been the culprit. SIRIUS really needs to look at who they are getting these things from, because many of them have just down right been garbage. These newer dot micro's seem to be the best yet. I not only had perfect reception with my S50, but now my Stiletto is the same.

You make a lot of sense - but here's my dilemma: if it were the antenna connected to my home dock then why am I having the same problem when I put my S50 in the car dock? Also, why when it is in my home dock does the signal strength show at least 80% (both satellite and terrestrial)? Finally, what is happening now is when it is in my home dock and I turn it on - it will say "no signal" for about 15 minutes and then it begins playing.

Sounds to me that the S50 Dock Connector has gone bad.

If you're right - can it be fixed or is that it for my S50?

Mike could be correct, but this is why I said try another antenna. This almost requires a process of elimination. I've seen stranger things than this with these antennas. But you know if you call support they are going to ask if you've tried another antenna to make sure it isn't the antenna.

I guess it all depends on if the connector that is bad is on the S50 or the dock itself. Could be the S50 since it is doing it on both docks and this of course would require a warranty exchange if you don't have an extended warranty with a retailer.

If that's the case, I'd like you to post a picture of the Stiletto when you receive it. A BUNCH of us here got that same ole song and dance only to find out that CS can't upgrade you--they just tell you that to get you off their backs. I just hope you got a tracking number or something that PROVES you're getting upgraded from them.
Well, I just got this e-mail last night, so I don't think they were yanking me:

Is it possible to let me know who you spoke to and in which department they were in (warranty - CS - product support, etc.) - my radio finally died and they said the best they could do for me was to knock $100 off the price of a Stiletto. I said thanks but no thanks.
