Default Will there ever be a new firmware update?

For those in the know, are we ever going to get another firmware update? Can we ever hope for bookmarks?

Why are people still bothering? Just leave the thing in the frikkin dock and don't touch it. Aggravating this thing is not recommended unless you are looking to buy a new one.

Sure, we can hope. Will it happen, that's the question. I know one of the MODS, can't remember who, but they said they thought there would be one more. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Don't bet on it. S50 is end of life. Or, maybe 2 weeks.

I was pretty optimistic about them doing another update just prior to the Stiletto being released. In fact I was almost assured there would be one. But since that time, I have very little faith we will see another S50 update. I sure hope I am wrong, but I don't think so.

But wouldn't it be neat if they would release the source code to the community to maintain.

There is no chance of source code going public, it contains the encryption data. Plus, the record industry guys would go nuts if people could hack it to share music.

My S50 is working well, and I'll stay with it until it quits. From the sales prices widely advertized on the S50, I infer that the powers that be are pushing them out the door. So I'm not hopeful about a firmware update.

But if they'd just post an update with bookmarking....

I agree, I stuck with the 1.2 for along time. The 4 hour recording and the fact the you do not need to leave the 5 min gap with the 1.4 is great. Keep rocking the 1.2 bro.

I'm running 1.4.1. It came out shortly after I got my S50, and I upgraded immediately. So far, so good: no 3 fingers -- yet. But I agree with the ain't broke theory.

And if they do come out with any new firmware, I'd probably not be an early adopter.

I must say you avatar and your attitude on the several hundreds of post I have read in the past two weeks is awful. If you think you cool, your not, far from it.

Leave o'l Rusty alone. He is always good for a laugh or two.

I hear he gives out tee shirts to his friends.

Sometimes the people need a wake up call.

For newbies, it doesn't make an impression at all.

I have plenty of shirts, thank you.

I just want what everyone else wants, support and tips on the S50 (thanks to Rubin and hundreds of others on this forum)

The scarcazim I can do without that's why I skip over his posts and don't even read them.

Love everything else about this forum btw, thanks.
