Default Will I fry my car dock ?? Belkin car dock power adaptor....

Hi all....Probably a dumb newbie question for the group but here goes........

I got a secondary car dock for my S50 to put in my wife's car. The dock did not come with the cigarette power adapter. I tried getting one from Sirius and Directed but they are apparently sold out. When I called Directed they had no idea when they would restock.

That led me on a web and local store search to find an OEM adapter or compatible universal adapter. After several hours on the web, a few back and forth trips to Target and Radio Shack, and some more time roaming hell's half acre -- no luck. They do have them on ebay but are selling at around $40 bucks which seems crazy.

But then -- possible eureka ! ? I found this Belkin adapater which is actually for an XM radio but it is a 5v adaptor and the plug looked the same.

http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...uct_Id=261328#

I bought it at Circuit City today and lo and behold it fits the car dock. The power ratings all seem to be the same as the OEM s50 adapter (5v dc 1.5-2a, 300v written on the wiring itself, and 20awg wire). I plugged it up and the car dock and radio seem to work just fine using this adaptor.

My question is ....does anyone know if I'll fry the dock by continuing to use this or should I be ok since the voltage, amp, and guage ratings seem to be the same?

Any advice / thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I think you'll be just fine. Espically with the S50, since if its not fine Sirius will probably send you a replacement a few months later.
