Unhappy S50 Executive Dock VOLUME RATE?

Hello,

I have 2 questions about the S50 EX-1 Executive System.

1)
The volume level rate to increase or decrease seems wildly slow.
Normally you just click a remote 4 or 5 times for a significant level change.
With the EX-1 you need to click the remote about 35 times for a normal reduction in volume.
IS THIS NORMAL???
MUTE seems like the only option for a quick level change...

2) (just in case there are new developments)
The STARTUP volume seems loud with no memory to the last level.
Any new solutions for this issue??? WILL SIRIUS SOLVE THIS ISSUE???

Thanks... Alan

Check this out. I see that others have had the same problems, with no fixes expected.

Yes, the Executive Boombox dock volume control requires a lot of twisting to increase or lower sound volume. You might be able to replace the knob with something of even smaller diameter to speed up the response. Otherwise, I don't see a fix unless you change the actual potentiometer(?) component behind the knob.
This seems to be just a typical of "first product" model glitch that most likely have been already addressed with the Stilettos.
Not fatal, but a little annoying at worst.

Angry Update

Here is an update for anyone with the same issue,
(Note: this is a brand new unit from Best Buy $89 closeout)

I called Sirius Tech because of the slow volume adjustment rate.
They told me it was defective and I should call "THEIR" supplier. (?)
So Sirius sends me to Directed Electronics and they agreed it was defective.

The catch is Directed Electronics wants me to ship it to them,
No call tag plus a $15 dollar check for defective equipment???
So that's about $30 shipping and processing for a $89 unit.
Seems odd to me that this is a good way to do business...
Odds are that unit will go back to Best Buy, I'll call Sirius again tomorrow.

I'm a bit irritated I guess...

The volume on mine was touchy as you guys are saying. I just used the remote all the time so I didn't have to use the volume knob.

My situation applies to both the remote and knob...

Has anyone else been told to deal with the supplier directly???
