It doesn't make any sense that they haven't fixed the "shutting off when pausing" issue. If this didn't happen, I would have hardly a complaint about my unit. I will post what they say back.
Hey guys, just a reminder:

"To provide the most value to our members, discussions here are limited to the technical workings of the S50. All other feedback should be addressed the appropriate department at SIRIUS."

I know some threads eventaully turn towards customer service bashing but this one started there.

The point was that even though I am no longer a customer of Sirius (however I still use the S50 as an MP3 player - I have 300 songs saved on it) - I believe I have something to offer to this forum. If someone is going to wonder why I am still here - it's because of my experience during the last year with Sirius and the S50 - I would think someone might be interested in what I have to say - whether it's good or bad!

I don't even have a dog in this fight, but I can't resist the comment about the private forum. When did that happen? I am a member, and you don't have any clue about me, so how can that be private?

And plus, in S50 matters, it is hard to find a thread that doesn't have something in it about customer service. People try to return units and it takes months to get a replacement, or the replacements don't work, or the advice from CS is useless, or they tried to stop the publication of 3FR documentation, those are all customer service deficiencies, and they are all over this forum. But not just S50. Siri just has poor customer service.

Then you need to plead your case to the managers and try to get them to delete about half the threads - you have absolutely no chance of success in that. Or, you can try to be the forum police if you like, but you are fighting a lost cause and will eventually begin to look pretty stupid with your incessant warnings and badgerings about what the forum is and isn't for. Or you can accept that until SIRI straightens up its customer service, it will be mentioned on this and other forums. But arguing with posters about what they are allowed to post will do you no good. Surely, it doesn't matter to me which you do, but I was just trying to give you a heads up. Many of the problems with the S50 are directly related to customer service.

What does knowing about people have to do with being private or not? I belong to a private club and know very little about many other members. Disclosure or knowledge of another's personal information has nothing to do with being a private club or not.

The fact is that this *is* a private forum. Similar the other private clubs, it requires a membership in order to contribute. As members we all have to follow the rules and procedures of this forum. Our posts will be censored for certain objectional words. Likewise, continued violations will result in a membership being revolked, aka "banned." If you come on here and post a bunch of racists crap, for example, you will be banned.

A member was trying to equate this country's free speech with the forum. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's simply a community of people that share a common interest exchanging information.

I have no interest in doing any of these things. I just posted a friendly reminder to stay on topic. I've been guilty of the being off-topic as well in the past. Just a friendly reminder...no more, no less.

OK. You are right. This is a private forum. Whatever pleases you.

And no one should ever say anything about SIRI customer service.

I'm not understanding your attitude towards me. It's not what pleases me. The mods have decided it would better serve members to have an S50 forum that attempts to help them with their technical issues rather than a forum of Sirius customer service bashing. We've all had issues with Sirius CS. But how does it help others with S50 problems by having to a bunch of "venting" posts.

Here's the rationale behind their decision:

I'm not getting into a pissing match with you; just trying to stick with the forum's intent. And on that note with stop getting off topic as well.

Here is the bottom-line on all of this: I had the S50 (active) for a year without any problems (I use to smile when I read others' problems - feeling I was lucky) then all of a sudden the unit went bad - which was bad enough but I also got the runaround from Sirius CS - which in the end provided no help whatsoever (unless you consider a refurbished unit the answer).

IMO - people (S50 owners) would be/are interested in my experience and that is why i said what I did.

If anything, this is a nice place to vent our frustrations. Venting them to Sirius hasn't done any good over the last year. So if people don't like to hear complaining about customer service that is terrible (and no one is arguing with that point), don't read those posts.
