Default Sound Quality

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but, doesent it seem that the premium subscription of the "Internet Sirius Radio" actually gets much better sound quality than the actual Sirius Radio hardware?

I wasnt aware of different subscriptions for Sirius other then a US or Cdn plan. I do think the sound quality from my old MYFI on XM was superior.

The $2.99 Premium Sound Option only gives you high bandwidth for internet listening. It does not effect the sound on the radio.

Now there has been talk about adding this capability to the SL100 Stiletto radio which also can listen via the internet. But in Satelite mode all radios receive the same quality.

To add this option go to and select "Listen Online" You will have to log in and once you get to the player there is a "Premium" button. Press this button and it takes you to the sign up screen.

I haven't looked at any documentation but it sounds like Sirius is just an 128kbps stream, and Wi-Fi is about 64kbps (32-48kbps on talk channels). It sounds like crap but you can get it all over the USA and the content is the best!
