Post Stuck on "Updating, 0% Complete"

I've checked the Master Bug List page but can't find a solution to this.

I tried to do a channel reset, but now my S50 is stuck on "Updating, 0% Complete." Whenever the unit is turned on, it stays on that screen and doesn't change. I've tried pressing all the buttons on the remote and the unit itself, but nothing happens.

Please advise.

thx,

T

Did you try taking the battery off and putting it back in for a full power down on the unit?
A read on this forum that taking the battery off is one of the ways to bump the unit out from frozen states. Could be one some corrupetd files in the unit's operating system. You might have to follow up with the 3 finger salute to get it all cleaned up.

Unhappy

That happened to me, back in June 2006 -- when I called S50 support, there was nothing they could do -- I had to send it in to the warranty department. I received a replacement 5 months later with an FM modulator with a dramatically reduced performance (I have to change channels a number of times when commuting to work since it will not override even the weakest radio stations)...so good luck to you!

Did you remove the FM Line In plug from the car dock. That should fix your problems.

So, I had the same problem when I first bought the S50. After trying out various things, I was finally told that the unit is defective. I had to get to their Technical Product Support guys (not Sirius CSR) and they were the ones who told me as soon as I told them about the "Updating, 0% Complete" issue, they told me that the unit is defective. Took it back to Best Buy and they gave me a new one! This one's working okay till now.
