Default Nba Stolen From Us

Bear with me on this,I am so pissed off. I have three subsrciptions to Sirius and I am also a share holder of its $.37 a share stock. Whoopee! After hearing the advertising for THE BEST OF XM ON SIRIUS, I noted the phrase NBA. Then I discovered that Sirius pulled a very, very SERIOUS thing that could bring about a class action law suit. Just what is needed when the stock is trash. They let the contract to the NBA slide over to XM, which THEY own,and dropped it from SIRIUS, AND THEN CREATE THE BEST OF XM!!!!!! Which means Sirius subscribers have been extorted to pay 4 bucks more per month to GET BACK THE NBA WHICH XM NEVER HAD (except a few years back): How long do you have to have a channel before calling it one of YOUR BEST-fifteen minutes. So,XM, which is owned by Sirius, has NHL,NBA,MLB and othe college football. What does Sirius have now-NFL,English Premeirship Futball, some college football, whooppee!!

Since I have three subscriptions and two are priced at $6.99 per month, I called up the BESTOFXM phone number and asked if I purchased an XM radio and activated the radio if the cost would be $6.99, since I have other radios. This I would not mind doing,it would be a little more that getting THE BESTOF XM, but I would get everything, even the hassle of two radio's to take around. The phone person told me to contact XM, she had never been asked this question before and the help sheet she had in front of her had no answer, but she said she understood why I was upset and put me on hold for a supervisor-I was cut off after a 20 minute wait.I have not called XM yet,I ran out of time to do so.If someone out there wants to try please post your findings.
According to Mel's manifesto on the website about the merger,he has lied to us faithful listeners.Read it for yourself. I made a decision to get Sirius over XM pre-merger for the NBA and other non-XM programming that only Sirius had.Sirius is now the red-headed step child from Mel.

The merger wasn't complete when XM signed the NBA contract. Good luck with your lawsuit.

and no you can not add a 2nd sub for 6.99. and like the above person said, the nba was with xm before the merger went thru. and your class action lawsuit won't fly. nice thought though.

I guess I need to get out more often-I didn't know Sirius was going to dump the NBA, but it had to have happen during the merger (the longest merger b.s ever). It is still a slap in the face and I will not upgrade my radio's or buy their BESTOF. Sirius has preyed long enough on existing subscribers.

The contract between Sirius and the NBA expired at the end of the 2007-2008 season, leaving XM free to pursue the NBA before the merger was complete.

The merger was still being decided at the end of the 2007-2008 season.XM had no money to have both the NBA and the NHL Sirius, would lose a lot of subscribers if they let the NBA go to XM.The merger was a known "go" at the time, just a matter of time before it was official. So, Sirius let the NBA slide to XM knowing they would have it anyway after owning XM. If the merger was non existing, and they still were competitive companies ,Sirius could never have let the NBA go to XM.XM would have NBA,MLB,NHL and college football (the ones that Sirius don't carry). A very one sided programming choice. With this stock market dropping daily I have heard that Sirius has bottomed out on its credit line and is in dire straights.Plus car sales are down and people usually dump the cable tv costs and other monthly expenses, like satelite radio. To get more money out of me they will have to GIVE me an XM subscription for $6.99 and not that $4.00 crap.On the same scale, XM subscribers should get Sirius with another radio for $6.99.

i'm sure the sirius wouldn't lose a lot of subscribers because they lost the nba. sirius would lose more subscribers if lets say stern or nascar left.

Thumbs down It's a crock

...this whole NBA/Sirius/XM is the biggest crock of BS I've seen in years. Sirius HAD the NBA and now they have it again. Rather than give me what I already had they want me to pay extra for it. BS. But this is just the beginning. From reading the posts here, most of the positive comments for this are from former XM folks. Those who had Sirius and the NBA have been robbed. The end is in sight for I will make it real easy for them and cancel my account. Time to dust off the vinyl and CD's.

I have mentioned this before that Sirius dumped the NBA a couple years back and then grabbed it again right around the beginning of the season. Probably won't happen now, but this I will tell you: car sales are down and people are watching their pennies, Sirius makes (made) their money at holiday times, xmas, fathers day, etc. If you just hold off to early next year when the shareholders see no stock gains from the BESTOFXM scam and the holidays an extra XM radio with all their stations for $6.99 will happen. Or the end of this satelite radio will end ; their credit line is used up AND,for some reason they never leased their real estate transponders from their satelites, which WE the stock holders were told were worth zillions!!! Nice sell, MEL.

I'm more pissed about no more Full Court Press. AI just got traded to the Pistons and where can I hear more about this breaking news? Not on Sirius!
ESPN is talking about baseball...yes baseball. 122 is college talk 123/SNR is on 2 channels at once and they're talking about the BCS, NFL is NFL, 15 is some random soccer game. What a crock of shit. NBA fans get the short end of the stick. I ordered the "Best Of XM" because I figured hey, maybe FCP will be on 1 of their channels, but nope. With the NBA offering games online in HD for $85, I don't need the "Best Of XM" anymore and I'm really close to not needing Sirius anymore.

Check this out:

http://siriusbuzz.com/

They expect the stock to be worth around 25 cents.

They are also moving studios to the XM building to cut costs and some talk shows are setting up lines to work out of their homes.

I was also quite irritated to find that the NBA was no longer on Sirius...went looking for the Pistons the other night, and nothing! I may look into the $85 NBA package, but for the time being, I'll just listen online to my local AM sports channel. The audio online sounds much better than the Sirius feed. As a lifetime subscriber, I'm sure this is just one of many more reductions of service to come.

I know this is like beating a dead dog, the Sirius dog, but I found a way to fight back. I have received a couple of emails from Sirius this week-one was begging me to buy another radio, the next one was to sign up for THE BEST OF XM and get it free for 3 months..WHOOPPEE.

What I am doing is replying to those emails and telling them I will never buy one more item or subscription unless I can activate my XM radio for $6.99 a month and get all the stations since I HAVE THREE RADIOS. You may have other gripes, but replying to their emails and bitching add up to a lot of input.
