Default SEC Football - any new teams to be added?

I think 8 out of the 12 teams are listed with Sirius, does anyone know if anyone else is gonna be added to the list in the future? Any info on negotiations or anything. I am a die hard Razorback fan and would love to be able to listen to their play by play on my Sportster, but I will take their opponents announcers against nothing at all.

Sorry, just extremely ready for football season to begin!!

Hope so, but they probably won't. I don't think their national fanbase is big enough to support it.
SIRIUS cherry picked the schools with the largest fanbases outside their home states.

There are a few exceptions to SEC football powers. Kentucky just got picked up for basketball and Vandy was on WSM so that was already included. Georgia not getting picked up was a surprise, but like I said awhile back, there are very few UGA fans outside of Georgia.
So I think that is one of the reasons they got passed over. But who knows, there could be other reasons like who owns broadcast rights, who owns distribution rights, etc.

i would assume the reason the remaining sec schools haven't signed with sirius is because of contractual obligations to clear channel. in my opinion once the contracts expire sirius will sign the remaining sec schools. what i would suggest you do is contact the university of arkansas and ask them why they haven't signed with sirius

and a while back you were wrong... i live in ohio -- have lived all over the world and there are certainly as many georgia bulldog fans around as any other non-market team.

according to the collegiate licensing company, uga is third in the country in licensed merchandise sold (link: http://www.clc.com/Pages/home2.html) behind michigan and texas

i agree georgia fans are diehard fans. in my opinion i'm guessing that georgia has contractual committments with clear channel or someone else

Kingfish, is this something that you think could be resolved here in the near future (1-2 years) and hook up with Sirius or do you think that the Hogs are locked into ARSN for the time being? I figured it was some type of contractual thing with ARSN but wasn't sure. If not, will continue to listen to Hogs on internet, but it sure would be nice to listen to Hog announcers on the ole boombox!

I moved to Arkansas 2 years ago, and find that every football Saturday almost every radio station, am or fm, seems to carry the hogs game. Maybe ARSN thinks they have distributed their signal to much? I don't picture the ARSN crew has really grown out of the Frank Broyles era in terms of technology and probably don't think many people would care to hear the games, or they want way too much money to have it carried. Have you posted on the football message boards to try and get a groundswell of support going? I do see a lot of sirius users here..

Are you talking about arkansas message boards? Then yes I have, and I don't really find to many people respond that are out of state. I can listen to em on the internet, but if I am out and about I will have to listen to the other guys announcers at the moment. I am not real hopeful that the Hogs will be on satellite radio any time soon. Wishful thinking though.

and again you were wrong, plus no larry munson, arguably the most beloved announcer in college football... i had a friend of mine tell me today it isn't college football without larry munson, and he went to auburn

I read and have heard Sirius through CSTV will cover 115 NCAA teams this year. I also heard that if CSTV covers a specific NCAA team it stands a good chance of being on Sirius. I think most of the 115 will be basketball coverage.

Search CSTV Schools
