Default English Soccer - only aired on Wednesday afternoon?

I emailed Sirius trying to get some info on what EPL games they will broadcast and here was their response:

We appriciate the time you have taken
to contact us regarding our sports programming. At this time, we
broadcast English Premier League soccer games one Wednesdays from
1pm-3pm EST on Sports Byline USA // 122.

I don't know if this was referring to the talk show since the season doesn't start for another week and a half or that they will only air one replay of a game on Wednesdays.

The customer service rep doesn't know what they're talking about.
First of all, there are never any games at that time (6pm-8pm UK time). Weekday evening matches are typically played in primetime at 8pm UK time (3pm Eastern). The rep probably had some old info about the talk show "World Soccer Daily." That used to air on Mon & Wed at those times. Now it's on every day (M-F) 11am-1pm.

Don't know if you were around last year, but just about every EPL match was on 127. They just broadcast the BBC Five Live feed.

You can go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/sport/commentaries.shtml to view upcoming EPL broadcast throughout the season. Keep in mind, that we'll only hear the EPL games listed there, not UEFA, not FA Cup, etc. The EPL matches aren't listed there yet since the EPL season is still a couple weeks away, but they typically have them up there a week ahead of time. Sometimes there will be 2 matches listed at the same time, then you need to check the SIRIUS website to see which one you will hear on SIRIUS.
Also you can tune to BBC-114 on Saturday mornings and usually hear a match during the season.

Thanks!!!! That's great news that they pull from the BBC Five Live feed.

FYI- they have posted the upcoming week's EPL schedule on Sirius site:

Can anyone tell me how this works? 2 games on the same channel 15 minutes apart in start times?

Manchester City
v
West Bromwich Albion

8/13
10:15 AM

Sounds like an error on the scheduling. I just heard a commercial today while listening to Sirius saying that the season is starting this weekend. I heard that there are games on Saturday and game starting Sunday morn at 8:30 ET. Enjoy soccer fans!

The Middlesbrough v Liverpool match kicks off at 12:15 ET, so it's an error.

Wow, between this, Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta Sports, I think I am covered for soccer this season. Already have the Liverpool and Manchester United Champions League games ready to TIVO this afternoon.

Yeah it's great. I don't have the FSC or Setanta hookups, since I don't want to pay for them. I prefer going down to the pub and watching the matches with others.
Everton vs United is the big game, but it's on so early.
The Arsenal game is important too on Sunday, but my pub is showing it via delay at a more reasonable time - 1pm.

SIRIUS is especially great for catching the weekday matches that start around 3pm ET, it allows me to listen at work. Catch the end on my ride home.

I would spend more at a bar in one trip than it costs for a month of FSC and Setanta ($27). I am up with the kids Saturday morning around 6:30 so the early starts are really nice.

I hear ya. I've crunched the numbers myself and it's just not possible in one trip to the local pub to spend less than the $11 per month it would cost me to add FSC (via Directv sportspack).
But I watch too much TV at home as it is, and soccer is one of the better sports to watch in a group.
How do you get Setanta?

The pub sometimes has cover charges for the bigger UEFA matches
If it's too high, I will just order the game on PPV.

DirecTV now carries Setanta but it costs $11.99 a month (it's not part of the normal sports package). It's great because it has more English soccer than FSC when you count the Coca-Cola Leage Championship games along with the Scottish League, Carling Cup and Champions League (not to mention International friendlies).
