At least the Rams got to stick him with a big fat playoff "L" on the way out.

Looking forward to skewering 49er fans on Hall of Fame tickets in 5 years. Getting the Dolphins fans this year helped me get Sirius.

Good for him. He's one of the all-time greats. As a Broncos fan I was actually sad to see him sign with us, as I felt he should be remembered as a 49'er. Hopefully, San Fran will sign him to a 1-day contract before his retirement is official, so he go out in the Red and Gold we all loved him in.

Jerry Rice is a fantastic player. I didn't know he was playing with the Denver Broncos until Friday night game against the Arizona Cardinals which I was there and of coarse the Cards lose 30-21 . I saw the fans were chanting "Jerry, Jerry" and he put his helmet in the air, going along with the fans. I'm glad I saw him probably for the very last time!

He's the anti-Terrell Owens, and he will be missed.

Jerry is a class act, though I think he held on a little too long. He should've gone ahead and retired a few years ago.

A receiver who plays in a real, vertical offense as opposed to cheesy dinky-dunk is now the active leader among WRs. This WR will also not publicly whine and cry his way off of teams if he doesn't get fed the ball enough.

Rice is the type of player that I am really glad he had the success he had. In his career, I can't remember hearing him complain that he's underpaid, or not getting the ball thrown to him enough, or any of the comments you hear everyday.

He's a throwback to the old days where you went out, strapped your helment on, and just played ball!

We need more players like Jerry Rice in the NFL!!!

Filters are a wonderful thing. What exactly do you think was the driver for his move from Oakland to Seattle? Hint - it wasn't because he thought he looked better in that Malibu Barbie Bluish uni.

So Friggin what. The man has proved himself. He doesn't have to prove himself to you or me.

I like the Rams, but Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, but both of them together don't equal one Jerry Rice. And what's going to happen when Isaac Bruce is dropped by the Rams. I bet you dounuts to dollars that he'll try somewhere else.

I used to live in SoCal. How many years in a row did the 49r's bet the Rams? I think they moved to St Louis before they were able to bet them.

Believe what you will, but Bruce will remain and retire a Ram. Frontiere herself will intervene to ensure that happens if necessary.

He's meant too much to the organization as the last LA Ram, the records he's put up .. oh, and uh, did you happen to see his last reception of the 1999-2000 season? Not that I expect non-Rams fans to understand, but that bears a wee bit of relevance to his legacy as a Ram.

Are we counting the games where the 49ers were paying players under the table? All's I know is we lead the all-time series 58-52-2. Soon to be 59.
