Another thought.... Since the NHL just announced they will be exclusively on XM in a few years, what are the chances of MLB making the switch to Sirius? FOX Sports or Sporting News radio too?

I believe that XM has MLB for the next 10 years or so.

I believe Sirius doesn't have an exclusive contract with the NBA, just to broadcast there games and use there NBA logo?

thats correct.... xm carries games broadcast on espn radio and the nba playoffs finals. Fine for the casual hoops fan but sirius is the way to go if you're a diehard or displaced nba fan....

Couldn't Sirius try to buy the all star game, the playoffs and the world series so they could at least accomdate their sports fans?

Nope, XM has the exclusive contract for the next several years to broadcast all of the MLB stuff!

Not entirely...technically XM owns all SATELLITE baseball broadcasts. So in theory, Sirius could buy rights for the big games, but it seems unlikely that Sirius wants to write a big check to XM, or that XM would be interested in selling them.

I don't mind having an XM radio just for MLB (although that's not the case). I just wish they would play both the home and the visitors team broadcasts.

This past season I listened to an Angels-Mets game and they were playing in NY. I couldn't stand the Mets announcers.

I definatly agree that it would be nice to play both home and away feeds I just think it would put too much of a demand on bandwidth. The only challange with a sport thats played everyday for 6 months straight.
