Default The 2006 NFL Season is underway

Well last night was the season opener of the 2006 season. This season has started the way last season ended. Not with a Steeler win as much as a flub in the ref staff.

Yes once again Walt Coleman and his staff wanted to set precedence right out of the gate.

Miller's score shouldn't have stood -- TV replays clearly showed his foot out of bounds between the 1 and 2-yard lines. However, Saban hesitated to throw his flag, which fell to the turf sight unseen as referee Walt Coleman watched the extra point kick. That meant the Steelers didn't have to try to get the ball into the end zone from short yardage.

I'm sure that because once again the Steelers reeped the rewards of this flub they will cry out foul and attack these comments but the fact is it is pointed at the Refs not the Steelers. Anyhow So be it.

Bring on the 2006 season!

This is all Sabens fault. Sure the refs make mistakes but it's up to the coach and his staff to correct them, Saben took his sweet time and it came back to bite him. This one loss could really hurt their entire season. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9645492

I guess you have a point. Saben is an ass for letting it go, but it still doesn't change the shotty calls from the refs throughout the league.

I'm a Fins fan but I do agree....Saban took too long in throwing that red flag....he seemed hesistant at first......

I still think the Steelers would've scored from the 1 foot line (I think the chances of Batch or Parker fumbling twice in the same area was about zerro to zero) or at worse settled for a field goal.

I thought the Dolphins played well in spots but this team is a ways from challenging for the championship much less the division title but we'll see.....it's still early.

That's the great thing about Football. Anything can happen. Unlike baseball where over asuch a long season the end results are predictable.
