CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League has partnered with SIRIUS Satellite Radio to broadcast select men’s basketball games for the 2006-07 season, it was announced Friday. Ten Patriot League men’s regular-season basketball “Games of the Week” will be broadcast live to SIRIUS’ nationwide audience, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 9. In addition to regular-season coverage, all seven games of the 2007 Patriot League Men’s Basketball Tournament will be aired. Lehigh will be featured as part of the package three times this season, including its games at American on February 3, versus Bucknell on February 21 and versus Holy Cross on February 25.

"The Patriot League is pleased to be associated with SIRIUS Satellite Radio. The addition of the Patriot League to SIRIUS' outstanding sports lineup will serve to further expand the visibility of the League and its member institutions," said Patriot League Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich. "The Patriot League has student-athletes from across the country, and partnering with SIRIUS provides us with a wonderful vehicle to make Patriot League basketball available to our growing national audience."

SIRIUS is the exclusive satellite radio broadcaster of the Patriot League and the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the Patriot League and its member institutions. “The Patriot League is a terrific addition to our lineup of sports offerings on SIRIUS,” said Steve Cohen, Vice President of Sports Programming for SIRIUS. “Patriot League schools produce first-rate basketball year in and year out and are followed faithfully by alumni and fans who are spread all over the country. With SIRIUS, those fans will be able to tune in and listen live from anywhere in the U.S.”

Veteran broadcaster Frank Santore will handle the play-by-play duties for the Patriot League package. Santore has an extensive announcing resume in college basketball, including serving as the play-by-play voice for Davidson and Gardner-Webb, as well as the 2006 Big South and Southland Conference Championships. Santore was also the play-by-play announcer for the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Game of the Week this past season on Sirius Satellite Radio. Broadcaster Marketing Services (BMS) will produce the games.
