Question Ironman not on everyones ballot

Why is it that Cal Ripken Jr wasn't on everyones ballot that voted. I am a Tom Seaver fan (originally from Brooklyn NY) but there is no way that Cal shouldn't have been on everyones ballot that voted

Because the people that vote for the Hall of Fame are egotistical, self-possessed douchbags that have never played the sport and don't know dick.

I'm just annoyed McGwire got shit on. These jerkoffs don't get that pitchers in the 1980-90s were juicing just as much as the hitters. It was an even playing ground. These idiots have never played baseball and don't realize that roids increases a pitchers performance just like it does a hitters.

I think it's crap about Cal. How could he not be on everyone's ballot?

I think this stinks to high hell but someone said they can't prove that he didn't use roids also, do you really think that Ripken used roids? I donn't think so

I doubt Ripken used roids- usually roids make for a short career full of back injuries/arm injuries. The ligaments usually don't hold up for long against the increased muscle.

And unfortunately, probably no one ever will.

I'm still happy with 3rd highest percentage of all time. The guy deserves it. And Gwynn is 7th highest percentage of all time. Another classy guy that defines what it is I love about baseball.

I agree. Ripken was one of the greats. Gwynn was and is a class act aswell.

I think it makes those holdouts feel powerfull. Like they can maybe controll the guys future. Like the players need the voters to validate their career.

I remember when Mike Schmidt got in, he didn't receive 100%. What possible reason could there be to not allow him in? I think sports writers carry some personal grudges and this is their chance to express it.

Maybe it was because he's been lobbying for Pete Rose to get in. Or maybe it was because he broke down and cried in his retirement speach (they play that on Howard Stern).

I highly doubt Ripken ever used steriods. He's way to scrawny (comparatively) to have ever used roids. He just had a serious heart and not to mention he gave 110% everytime he played.

Sorta like Clemens...although roid use with him is iffy (but I doubt it). He's got one of the most stringent workout regimens of any athlete...ever...even in the off season.
