Don't worry. This merger, if it even goes through, won't happen for at least another year.

I became a dual sub in August. I wanted the NFL, Notre Dame, and Florida football and a sample of the new NASCAR channel. I look forward to getting these goodies on the MyFi (or maybe an Inno) in the future. Finally (hopefully), all sports content on one receiver! I hope they keep existing bandwidth and we get home and away of MLB and NBA games too.

Yeah, well, I had been saying on another satellite radio forum that there would be no way the companies would merge and calling people stupid, etc..

God help me if the merger goes through.

I could care less about the NBA, but this was one think I would like to see with the MLB. I hate having to listen to the Angels play away games because I'd have to listen to the other teams broadcasts...

You like Hudler and Phsyiock(sorry bout the spelling, i know it's wrong.
Hudler is overly eager and way, way too positive and sunny. Phiz is decent in a mind numbingly boring way. He also is laughed at in the Bay Area for having the worst pennant call('87 Giants over Padres) of all time. They are still the radio team, aren't they?

I'm bad with names. Plus I didn't listen to that many games this past year. I do like Hudler. Rex is psycho. He's funny. He went off on Washington a couple of years ago when one of the Angels pitchers was thrown out of the game for putting something on the ball......

In my opinion, I dont think the merger will go through. If it doesnt, I think a good way for both of these companies to leverage their exclusive sports content would be to license it to the other company.

That means that say Sirius wants XM's baseball coverage, they either pay a licensing fee (or recipricate with something as good like the NFL). Sirius gets a couple ads an hour (so that increases their revenue). XM gets more people listening to the ads they get to sell, which would be most of them, and they get to raise the rates during those games.

It most likely wouldnt happen, but it would be a quick, cheap way to add revenue.

roger2001, That waters down their marketing edge, and differentiaion of service. Those are needed in competitive businesses! Besides, they just can't cross-license without approval from MLB, NHL, NFL, etc. And those guys love the exclusivity angle 'cause they can rape more $$$ out of the sat radio providers. Nice thought, though.
