Anyone know the deal on this? I guess I could have checked the xm site but thought I'd try here first to see if anyone knew offhand. Will sirius ever be able the carry MLB games? I'm hoping once the exclusivity contract is up that sirius will gobble that up, I'd really love to be able to listen to baseball games on my sirius.

Damn. Oh well, guess I'll just keep getting my MLB gameday subscription until then. Maybe XM will go outta business before then.

But thanks for the info.

XM signed their deal with MLB in October of 2004 and began broadcasting in 2005. Their deal was for 11 years. I'd say that takes them through the 2015 World Series.

BMF, maybe you were thinking of the Sirius/NFL deal which does end in 2010.

Could be... is MLB a 11 year? Hmm... for some reason I was thinking 2010. Regardless, it's not coming to Sirius anytime soon.

Guess I don't have to worry about that now. Boy, there sure are a lot of questions.

1. Will it cost me extra?
2. Guess I'll have to get a new radio or will they broadcast with siri satellites also?
3. How long, after the deal is inked and approved, will it take?
4. Is it possible with firmware upgrades say for the Stilleto to receive both? Or possibly a new antenna and firmware upgrade.

I'm just sorta thinking in print here lol...I'm just hoping that I'll be able to listen to my yanks sooner than later without costing me an arm and a leg.

too...many....questions....lol

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

1- Probably. This is where the "additional choices and tiered pricing" comes in.

2-I am pretty sure this will be some of the first content to be shared, once the merger is complete. it will be available on your existing radio, IMHO.

3-After approval and completion...I think sports channel and decades will be the first items shared/consolidated.

4-Not likely, but unknown. You will continue to get Sirius, and there will likely be expanded content.
