Default Hokies defeat #1 UNC

Despite a near-repeat of their Peach Bowl performance, Virginia Tech held on to beat no. 1 North Carolina today in men's basketball. They've beaten then-no. 5 Duke and UNC in the same week. They're now 13-4 with two wins over top 5 teams and sit atop the ACC with Boston College - how about some top 25 respect?

Now that was impressive. I have to give the Hokies 'props' for this win. I started watching the game after halftime and Brent Mustburger had already declared Tech the winner. Watching the game and seeing the lead dwindle down to 3 points, I had a feeling UNC was going to pull it off but much to my relief; I hate the Tarheels, the Hokies won. Congrats VT. Can you do this again, say sometime in March?!

Yes, very impressive win... Im a Tarheels fan, but, hey, if anyone is to beat them in the ACC, i would just as soon let it be Tech. (since they are in my backyard)

The bottom line is that UNC is still a fairly young team, that has not played on the road much, coupled with the fact that Va. Tech is a pretty solid team anyway, and has a good home record.

Come on Tarheel, pick yourself up, and face the day.

The Tarheels are still the team to beat in the end! I was watching this game and could not believe what was happening to them. They were getting their asses kicked but I kept on watching. What did impress me about their loss was they did come back to get it to within 3 but ran out of gas. This game will make them stringer and a better team and bring them back to a sense of reality. Can't wait until Wed with Clemson, the Heels will take out their frustrations then and Coach Williams will have them prepared u can bet on it. I wasn't trying to avoid anyone my computer has been down and was at Circuit Cuty for repairs
Go Heels!!!

A likely story!

I agree, let's see where everybody is in March.
