I'm already having nightmares of Ryan Howard with a mullet. Wasn't Sal Fasano enough? Other than that frightful image, it can't be a bad thing.

Though I didn't cover that team, many of the former players, including hitting coach Milt Thompson, Darren Daulton, Lenny Dykstra, Mickey Morandini, John Kruk and Terry Mulholland each talked about the supreme confidence they had and their chances of winning every day, a feeling they say began in Spring Training.

According to each player, they also had an unselfish attitude of always putting the team first. General manager Pat Gillick -- who saw that team up close when his Blue Jays beat them in the '93 World Series -- is big on character guys and feels that he's got a high number of those "types" of players. This '07 group isn't as dynamic as the '93 team, but it's easy to get behind never-give-up players like Chase Utley, Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Aaron Rowand and Cole Hamels. This is arguably a more talented team than '93, and the hope is that their heart is just as big.

Boy I hope this is the year!!
So are you saying that the 2007 Phillies are all on Steroids like the '93 Phillies were ?
