Angry Radio is not compatible with Best of XM

In march we bought a Volvo and had Sirius installed in it by the dealer. Today I tried to have the Best of XM added to our account and was told both online and by a CSR that it is not compatible with our radio

Anyone else having an issue like this?

I should also add its also not compatible with the family tier of service either.

My understanding is all XM and Sirius radios should be able to get the best of package. The family package probably does require a new radio (as per previous statements by Sirius XM).

Did you try to add both together or just the BestOfXM?

There is no option for only best of XM

it gives me Sirius everything with best of XM which is grayed out and says this package is not compatible with your current radio. Or Everything Sirius.

If I select Everything Sirius it just goes through the motions there is no option to add best of XM.

Family plan also comes up with the not compatible with your radio. I tried to upload a screen shot but the upload keeps failing.

The package would be the SiriusEverything with BestOfXM.

I have a lifetime and I don't see any of the packages so I can't be more help. Perhaps you need to wait until 10/6?

Yeah unfortunetly I can not select the Everything with XM since its grayed out and says its not compatible. Thus far everyone I have contacted is clueless. Sirius sends me to Volvo, Volvo sends me to the dealer, the dealer has no idea.

So I guess I'll wait and hope for the best. I knew we should have waited to have it installed.

I know some older chipsets and receivers won't be able to get the best of XM. But it could also be that you can't officially do anything like said above until Oct 6.

But again, not every receiver will be able to get the best of XM. I tend to think though not sure, that the radios that don't get all 8 or so of the Canadian channels won't be able to get the Best of XM. But that's just a theory.

And what is the technical limitations that prevents that from occurring? I really have no idea how the whole thing works but aren't they just sending a signal to the radio that says here is the new channel list and you can now get these channels. How is it any different then if they just added a new channel?

Also what are these 8 Canadian channels so I can see if the radio gets those. I'm hoping its not the older chip set since the thing was just bought and installed in march.

Further update on orbitcast. Your problem is not unique. My guess is Sirius has an issue. Try again on 10/06.

If I don't see XM as a category on my Streamer, does that mean I can't get the Best of XM?

I was able to sign up on the site a few minutes ago, however, I had only 1 channel (a PBP channel on 194) added-and that was prior to signing up. It did have the ala carte packages blacked out as uncompatible with my radio, but I already expected that...

Now on the flip side, i tried to update my Xm Radio for the best of Sirius as well and their site is down...

Some guy on XMFAN claimed he added his BestOfXM to his Sirius lifetime for $150 one time cash. So if anybody was interested that would be just over 37 months to break even.

Best Of XM is not compatible with my Starmate Replay. I signed up for it today, my radio did an update but the new channels did not show up. So I called up Sirius and the CSR told me I'd need a new radio to get them. It would have been nice if the option had been grayed out so I didn't have to go through the whole signup/cancel process.

My Sportster Replay is not showing any XM channels.

This merger is full of lies.

First of all, we were told that "most" existing radios could get Best Of. I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot more older chip sets out there than newer ones, just look at retail sales numbers over the past several years.

Secondly, a la carte was going to give us more options.

Let's look at it.

Sure you can get 50 non-premium channels at a discount. OK fine. Well why even pretend to offer more than this?

All Sirius: $12.95
A La Carte plus Howard: $12.95
A La Carte plus Howard plus sports: $12.95

WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!!!

Get 2/3 of your channels turned off and don't save a single penny.

Is this some sort of joke?

If Sirius has the ability to toggle Playboy Radio (On/Off), it would seem that the Best Of XM channels could be toggled in the same manner. Right?

You do know you won't see them if you don't pay an extra $4?

If you can get the Canadian channels, you should be able to get the XM channels.
