Default I have both XM and Sirius radios---what's next?

I have had Sirius for quite some time. I still currently have it in my wife's car and my work truck. I am using Starmate 4 radio's.

I recently purchased an 08 Tahoe. It has the factory XM. Sirius does not make a system that is compatible with the GM-BUS/LAN? yet.

I would rather not put the extra Starmate 4 that I have in the Tahoe, I would much rather replace the gimmick under the dash. BUT!

With the merger, does that mean XM service will now play Sirius music? The music on XM absolutely blows compared to Sirius. XM tends to play no-name and underground music. Not my preference.

Are you sure the music blows? I would say (after using both) its the other way around Sirius repeats way too much.....

Three active Radio's on my account
#1: Sirius Sportster 3 (Main radio)
#2: Sirius Sportster 5 (Second radio)
#3: Sirius Stratus SV3 (Third radio

Does repeat automatically mean blowing? Not necessarily, if it's music you like. Read the guy's last two sentences. I'd guess that you two have a difference in opinion in what is "good" music.

MightyHd, go take a look at and see if there's anything there for your needs. Call them up if you can't find anything. I know there's a lot of "converting" type unts that replace the "XM brain" and "replaces" it with a "Sirius brain", to put it in simple terms. Usually these items cost around $100.

Unfortunately, this item will totally remove any XM from your car's radio, unless you get the "Best of XM" package.

The channels themselves, are staying as-is for the time being. I'm sure that over time, a lot of redundant channels, like CNN and the traffic channels will be eliminated. They still have a lot of time to figure the music thing out.
