Angry Where's the SEC?!?!?!

I'm very frustrated with the lack of XM Football on the "Best of XM" schedule. Without any explanation whatsoever the SEC has been removed from the college sports offering that was originally announced in the mid-September press release.

An e-mail to customer service has yet to be returned. This is frustrating!!! Can I get an AMEN?!?!?

I hear ya. I went ahead and canceled my "Best of XM" after this. I'm a dual sub and I thought I could get rid of XM since the only thing I got it for was SEC sports, but I guess I'll just remain as a dual sub until they get this mess straightened out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the SEC on Sirius last year?

You are correct. XM acquired the rights to the SEC earlier this year, I believe.

Actually there were a few SEC teams on XM last year, but most were on Sirius. This is the first year for XM to have all of the SEC teams.

Thumbs up Update

Spoke to a friend of mine closer to the situation. Look for SEC games to be included in the package either this weekend or next weekend at the latest. SIRIUS is awaiting to receive the legal paperwork from the SEC office, which is expected by week's end.

Good News!

That is good news, but I'm still going to stick with my dual sub for now. I just don't see how they'll be able to fit all of the SEC, Big 10, ACC, Pac-10, NBA, and NHL on 10 channels...especially once we get into basketball season.

This is indeed good news, but I was wondering the same thing. One possible option would be to only carry the home team's broadcast. I believe XM does this for baseball.

XM already does this with most college games. The SEC seems to be the exception. Most SEC games have dual feeds. It's not always consistent. Sometimes you'll see an SEC game with only one feed and sometimes you'll see a non-SEC game with both feeds, but for the most part the SEC typically is the only conference with dual feeds.

They are going to have problems with the 10 channel limit even without the SEC. On Saturday the Arizona/Stanford game and the Canadiens/Maple Leafs game won't be on Sirius/Best of XM, even though they will be on XM, because all 10 Best of XM sports channels will be occupied during that time.

I'm happy about that, but it looks like only half the broadcasts are available. no indication of which feed for which team, though. Better than nothing, but not sure if it will keep me with SIRIUS much longer.

Interesting....looks like they dropped some more NHL games to make room for the SEC games.

They are all listed as the home feed for SEC games so that is what I would expect. In general this is the way it always works when there is only one feed unless it is teams from different conferences playing each other and one conference doesn't carry their games on xm/sirius.

This page shows whether it is the "Away Channel" or the "Home Channel" (the two columns on the right.)"

http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...e=NCA&team=all

There does appear to be a mistake on this page. It says the Texas/Oklahoma game will have the Oklahoma feed on both 123 and 215. I believe it will be the Texas feed on 215 since XM has rights to the Texas feed but not the Oklahoma feed. Probably shows this way because the game is listed twice...once as Texas @ Oklahoma and again as Oklahoma @ Texas.
