No, the SL2 doesn't support the Mac OS. You can probably find software out there that will allow you to trasnfer songs to and from your device. If MP3s are the only thing you want to load onto your SL2, you can always load songs onto a microSD card via your Mac, and then insert the card into your SL2.

Unlike most media companies these days, Sirius continues to be unfriendly to Mac users. However, Apple's market share has been rising steadily for the last few years. Apple is #4 in computer sales in the U.S. Their hardware shipments are up 16% over last year. Hopefully after the merger, Sirius will come into the 21st century.

Since updates for the stiletto have always been available via WiFi, you would not need a PC to get the upgrade. Just visit your local coffee shop and have a cup of Java and wait until it completes.

But my worry is, would I be able to use, and record with the SL2? It's my understanding that to program it to record it needs to be linked up to the computer? Perhaps I have this wrong but I don't want to buy a stilletto unless I'm able to use all of its functions. I understand that I can use the Micro SD card for music, but no mac compatibility is really inexcusable at this stage of the game.

There is no PC recording capability. You program the SL2 and the SL100 though the radio's menus.

You should have all the functions . MSS on the PC only gives you the capability to move over MP3 and WMA files along with upgrade.
