I have already pre-ordered because I just jumped on the SIrius bandwagon for sports coverage of my beloved Crimson Tide on the go. THat being said, I have already pre-ordered my Stiletto (I bought a Sportster 4 while I wait for the Stiletto), and I, like many others on this board are searching for information. It seems that Sirius has not leaked any information to any media sources on this except what TSS and Crutchfield were given along with trade show propoganda. I was shocked that a respectable tech publication like Wired published a story on the Stiletto talking abour Zing and bluetooth. Sounds like they have no credible information either. Since we are left with no official word, we are left to speculate why information on the Stiletto is so rare.

1. Sirius is uncertain of the production and delivery times that they are trying to stifle the hype by not saying anything official

2. This is a marketing strategy to get the hype so high through innuendo that pre-orders skyrocket

3. The leaks have stunned Sirius' intended marketing campaign and they do not know what to do now

4. Sirius has some things come up (like secure Wifi connections) that they did not prepare for

5. It doesn't work

6. They are waiting for more "behind-the-scenes" deals with partners (Wifi partners and online music partners) to come to fruition before making a big announcement

regardless, I keep searching every morning to grab as much information as possible as I eagerly await my shipment.

If they really wanted to create hype they would do an event of sorts such as Apple (computer) does. So I'm not so sure that what they're doing (or not doing) is to build hype.

What amazes me is that supposedly they were very upset because of the mis-information spread on the S50 so their plan this time was to keep quiet. They keep quiet and THERE'S STILL information on the net. They loose either way.

But, if the delay in an announcement is due to RIAA concerns then they really can't help it.

Why are we talking about this, there has never been an official date of release given? SIRIUS isn't clever enough to build hype in the manner in which described. My opinion is these babies are in production and when they get them close enough to have them in stores within a week or so, we'll see the official word. They did indeed learn a lot from the S50, lets hope that applies to the unit itself as well.

It may be that they are on the water. I'm sure they're being manufactured in China or somewhere in the east. Realistically it will be 6 weeks on the slow boat plus customs. I doubt they would air in a shipment, it would cut to deep into the margins. They're probably waiting on them to get into the country before announcing anything. Plus, the may have the hardware done and in production/shipment but still be ironing out some software in which case they will need configuration on arrival. They're lots of scenarios but it's fruitless to speculate. They'll be available when they're available. I have mine preordered from crutchfield and I anxiously await and hope for a better than S50 experience.
