Exclamation Stiletto w/ Sportster 4 Home Dock - BAD IDEA

Just went to CC after hearing about this compatibility and got bad news.

Before this device was public, the SIRIUS rep was at the store demonstrating the Stiletto w/ the Sportster 4 Dock and how they "worked". He said a bunch of the reps broke the stiletto pins because of how they are longer on the sportster dock and if not EXTREMELY careful not only while removing and placing on the dock (using also) it will probably break.

The CC Rep told me "do not buy this, wait, you will break it if not extremely careful".

Just an FYI

Did they shove it in with the battery pack on? And it pops in pretty easy, after taking the battery out. I think if you push hard on it like an idiot, you could break it. I have had zero trouble.

I do believe you should buy the proper cradles, because the unit is not as stable in these...but they do work.

Thumbs up Just bought the Sporster 4 home dock and it works great

After reading the post tonight that said the Sportster 4 docks work on the Stilleto 100 I went right over to CC and bought it. Yep, took the battery out completly and it works great. I will have a ton of music by tomorow + Howard. For those who haven't used a dock with the Stilleto yet it has a perfectly clear signal and works great. I never would have know and I would have missed recording Howard without this site. Thanks guys.

My understanding was yes...and that this was something that was done on purpose. So the fact that this has not been widely known, puzzles me.

It states on most of the new packaging and product sheets from Sirius that they have switched over to a "universal" connector on the latest generation of products. This should make more aftermarket products compatible with the entire lineup of new Sirius products. It should have been this way from the beginning, but I guess it took them time to catch on. Also, it still pays to hold off on the car and home docks. The stiletto will sit better in both, plus the home dock will have an extra space to charge the additional battery at the same time. The car dock will also have preset buttons which the Sportster 4 dock does not have. Also, the car dock shipped with my Crutchfield order, but the home dock is on back order. I think the car docks are more like hours or days away than weeks.

Default Lose Antenna Signal with SP4 car dock

So, I just went out and purchased the SP4 (for the dock) to run my Stiletto in the car.

Everything powered up just fine. I Instantly had 3 bars where I've never had even 2 with the Stiletto or headphones/antenna. But, after about 5 minutes the screen started showing me "Antenna Not Detected".

Obviously it is still connected...and obviously I've tried to double check the connection in the back and the connection with the Stiletto.

Any suggestions? If I slide the Stiletto up just a bit, I can disconnect the antenna portion but maintain the power in the dock....and then I go back to the internal antenna.

Looks like the SP4 dock was a VERY short lived option for me....

works fine for me... i'm actually using the antenna from my starmate replay car kit. had to use the power from the sp4 car kit though since it was different on my starmate. never tried the sp4 antenna, dont wanna mess up the packaging so i can return it to CC when my car kit comes in from TSS.
