Post MSS does not recognize Stiletto

I cannot get MSS to recognize the Stilletto. Everytime I connect it to the USB port it says:

Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard:

The wizard helps you install software for: Stiletto 100

If hardware came with an installation CD or Floppy disk, insert it now.

What do you want the wizard to do?

1)Install the software automatically
2)Install from a list or specific location

If I choose option 1 it says Cannot Install this Hardware.
The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software.

If I choose option 2 it says Search for best driver by:
Search removable media (Floppy or CD-Rom)
OR Don't search I will choose the driver to install.

I just can't get MSS to recognize the Stiletto. I never had this problem with My S50. Also when I connect the Stiletto to the computer, it does not have the message DO NOT CONNECT like the S50 did.

Anyone know how I can get the MSS to recognize the Stiletto?

Did you install the Stiletto version on top of the older version of the MSS or did you unistall the older version first? I installed the newer version on top of the older and this provided the correct drivers so that I could use both my S50 and Stiletto. Not sure what is happening with yours.

The device should not be detecting as a 'new hardware device', it should detect as a MTP Device.

You must have Windows 2000 or above, and Windows Media Player 10 in order to use MSS with the Stiletto. You should have the latest service pack of XP (Service Pack 2) as well if you are using XP.

If you qualify in this manner, you might want to try reinstalling Windows Media Player 10.

Thumbs up

Make sure you have the following:
1) Windows XP with SP2
2) Windows Media Player 10
3) Microsoft .Net framework 1.1
Check using the 'Add Remove Programs' from the control panel.

If you do then download the latest version of MSS from here:
http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...=1131728356302

and follow the installation instructions on the manual posted on this page
