Default Stiletto 100 does not work with linksys

I just activated my stiletto today and tried to listen to it using the wifi and come to find out after an hour of troubleshooting with a tech support rep that according to them the unit is not compatible with linksys routers. Is there anyone that is using this with a linksys router and having the same problem?

I'm have a Linksys and it works fine with my Stiletto. The only thing I had to do to get it working was enter my WAP password.

If you haven't already, consult this.

linksys routers seem to be the best router to use with the stiletto i have no idea why they told you that. have you read other threads on here? they go into a lot of detail about how to fix it.

The network is open so i know its not that.

BTW It's an old linksys that is 802.11b only so there is no mixed mode issues.

Help.

Find another Linksys (friends, family or work) to connect to. You want to rule out the Stiletto itself or possibly your router.

SL100 connects to both my HW rev 1 WRK54G and HW rev 1 WAP11 without issue.

I would open up your wireless network (remove all mac filtering, WEP keys, broadcast the SSID) connect, then re-apply the authentication layers one at a time and verifying connection with each change.

That is just 100% wrong. I have a Linksys router and simply turned on my Stiletto and it connected fine.

Customer service was 100% wrong.

Same here. I have a linksys router and it works fine. Go to Panera or a friends hosue and see if you cannot there. If that works reset your router. If that does not work go buy a new router.

If the S-TO will not hook up to any router run and exchange it before your 30 days are up....

Figures....

As soon as I post something it now works. I've been messing with this thing all day...

Another question.

I signed up for the premium internet streaming.

It appears that the net radio streams at the lower bit rate (34kbs).

Can this be set at the higher rate (129kbs)?

Thanks for the help.

Higher bit rate on the Stiletto is a no. it will only stream at the 32kbps. Some people claim that the Stiletto will be able to stream higher in the future so that is maybe fixable with a firmwear update but I don't know.

Yes, this is exactly how linksys, Dlink, Netgear work. Some models work very well, some work for about 8seconds. It's not the brand that you need to watch out for but the actual MODEL and when it was released.

One of the many reasons why I stopped the nonsense that is computer tech support.

Can't support something that just doesn't work correctly no matter what you do.
