Default Cigarette lighter question

I am still waiting on my car dock to come in but I have a question and yes this is my first unit... In my 4 runner once you turn the ignition off the cig lighter no longer has power. In my wifes car once the ignition is turned off the cig lighters still have power. The only problem is that I am installing the stiletto in the 4 runner.

My question is that if the stiletto is charging while I am driving and I am recording something or whatever, once I park and turn the car off will the stiletto just shut down and quit charging or recording since the power doesn't stay on? Is it possible for me to mess with the cig adaptor to where it stays on? Any input is appreciated and excuse my stupidity with this!

You would have to rewire the socket to a battery positve instead of a keyswitched positve. There is nothing that you can do to the adapter, maybe you meant the socket.
