Cool Home Kit

I have had my home dock for two days. I have noticed that the volume will only go up to about 3/4. When comparing the sound of my Stiletto in the home dock to it without (using the headphone ant.), it sounds quite compressed without the sound range when directly connected. I also notice a faint clicking sound through the left side. Is anyone else having this issue or do I have a defective dock?

I got my home dock yesterday. I don't hear any clicking sound, but I too can only raise the volume 3/4. Also the FM modulator signal is horrible. My Xact Visor has crystal clear reception in FM stereo and louder, NO fuzz from being weak. This home dock signal starts to get bad 3 feet from it. I wrapped some insulated wire around the base and extended that about three feet and taped the end on the wall. It helped with improving the signal. I am sure someone will take theirs apart and solder an antenna wire directly on the circuit board and make a antenna better. Right now I am using the FM transmitter from C.Crane http://www.ccrane.com/radios/fm-tran...ansmitter.aspx. Works like a lot better the docks internal transmitter.

Don't hold me to this since I don't have a home dock. I'm under the impression that the the stiletto isn't used to control the volume when it's docked. If I remember correctly, the stiletto goes about 3/4 when it's docked in my car as well, but I didn't pay to much attention to that since I control the volume through the car stereo anyway. I believe the home dock is designed to plug into a home stereo or similar device where you can control the volume on your home stereo. Anyway, my 2 cents but I warn you, it may not be worth the nickle you paid for it.

I have not tried it. I have everything running thru my PC and home theater. The only abnormality I have found is I cannot turn the volume all the way down. Mute works fine, but at the lowest volume setting and with earbuds or headphones, the volume is fine, but wish I could get it lower.

My volume only goes 3/4 as well.

No clicking.

The FM transmitter on my unit is amazing. Covers the entire house.

My volume goes to 100%. I've never used the FM Trans, have no use for it whatsoever in the home or car... only go direct connected!

Just started using line out instead of FM transmitter; now the volume goes to 100%

Yes the 3/4 volume limit is probably to prevent distortion being transmitted via the FM Trans. Makes sense if you think about it, I know many people that have complained of poor sound only to find out they have the volume turned up so loud it is causing terrible distortion.

That makes sense but I have tried the volume level both ways only to find that I had to have the volume up to get any sort of signal into my receiver. The signal shouldn't be that weak. I guess that we can thank our friends at the FCC.

Unfortunately I think you are correct.... this is why they included the FM Relay for your car, this isn't much help in the home though.
