Post Dropped my Stiletto!!

I had my Stiletto in my front pocket waiting for it to power on at work. I bent over to pick something up and BAM! It fell pretty hard. Now when I plug in headphones the left one goes in and out. I have to press really hard on the plug to keep it going out of both headphones. Anyone have any solutions to this? PLEASE??
Now I have to find a Best Buy that has the Stiletto still to exchange under the 1 year warranty.

Why should Best Buy exchange your Stiletto? You dropped it and caused the damage. Your Stiletto wasn't defective so it's not a warranty issue.

I paid for the 4 year warranty. They told me that it would cover it.

uh... every time you replace the product they are supposed to void the BB warrenty. You should then have started with a fresh reciept.

Dropping the unit is not covered in that plan.

If it is still under 1 year warranty it doesn't void it.
They told me if it breaks for ANY reason, it will be fixed or replaced.

Well I think these guys are right, that abuse which is what dropping one is considered isn't covered. So, the bottom line is if you go in and tell them that, they aren't going to cover it. If you tell them it just not working, then they won't know you dropped it.

It is covered for any reason if it breaks under normal use.... But it didn't break... you dropped it and technically that means it was abused. If you had dropped it in the lake, do you think they would cover that too? The point I am making is that it is a fine line there and you have to decide where you stand in terms of that fine line.

There isn't any damage to it. You can't tell by looking at it that it was dropped. I mean what would you do? Buy a new $350 unit, or bring it in to get replaced if they will allow it?

That is a personal decision that you'll have to make for yourself. I know what I'd do, but this isn't my question to answer it is yours ; Me, I probably wouldn't have ever even made this post, I would have just handled up on it.

Like DAB says, it doesn't matter what I would do. It's a question of honesty vs. opportunity. Make the decision your conscience can live with, and leave it at that.

If a beer fell on to my laptop and it stopped working, I'm not going to say its not working because of the beer. I'm not a tech, I only know my laptop is not working. if the stiletto is less then 30 days old, I would bring it back to best buy for a new one, no questions asked.

Agreed. If someone drops a radio and you have the chance to return it, do it. A person can't be expected to shell out another $350 to replace it when you can simply go in and say it's not working right and walk out with a new one. I know I've broken or damaged things within the first 30 days and returned them. If it don't bother you, do it.

I'd buy a case and not put it in my front pocket. This shouldn't be covered.

Step #1: Don't tell Best Buy you dropped it and get a new one.

Step #2: Call Tss-Radio and get an armband/belt clip.
