Default Something is draining the battery while sleeping...

Ever since using my Stiletto with the auto and home dock, I've noticed the battery drains dead while in sleep mode. (no scheduled recordings are in queue)

I turned the unit off this morning (before removing it from the auto dock), brought it into work and dropped it into my desk drawer (I confirmed the unit had a full charge).
Upon picking it up several hours later, I noticed it was warm...and after waking it up I noticed the battery indicator was red (near death).
I had the same thing happen yesterday, but I thought I might have accidentally turned it on while putting it in my drawer.
I didn't have this problem all last week prior to receiving the auto and home dock. I would just put it into sleep mode at night and it would retain the charge overnight, the battery indicator would be in the same place as the night before.
The home and auto docks appear to work fine....charging the battery as they should, no issues there.
But the fact the unit heats up while sleeping makes me wonder what it's doing (or trying to do) while sleeping....

Anyone else experience a similar issue?

Thanks

The issue is that it is still in satellite mode. Why not shut it down completely?

You mean if the unit is put into sleep mode when in Sat mode, it will continue to look for a sat signal (until the battery is depleted)?
That's odd.
So the people who regularly use Sat mode (outside of the dock), they should do a 'complete' shut down, instead of just putting it to sleep?
Is this mentioned in the manual?

I haven't expierianced this yet because I mainly use my library... but what if you go out of sat mode before putting it to sleep?

Or put it in Internet Radio/Library mode instead of putting it to sleep when in satellite mode (and can still hear audio)

YES, there is a confimed bug that I just helped confirm where the Sat Chip not only can stay on in sleep mode, but also when switching from Sat Mode to Internet Radio (Wifi) or Radio Replay Mode.

I usually have mine docked at night, so I don't worry about it. But If you are done listening for the night, I would suggest until a fix is released that you do a hard shut down.

I've had the Sat Chip stay on several times when switching from Live Sat Mode to Wifi and it will drain your battery quick. I filled a bug report and then worked with them to confirm it through some logging from my Stiletto.

A way I found out to confirm if sat chip is off is to go to Settings > Device > Antenna Aiming.
If the antenna is 'off', the info screen should say:
Antenna aiming information is currently unavailable because satellite reception is off....

I guess this will be the way I'll confirm it's truely off.

Thanks all-

Is this an issue at all if the receiver and dock are just left powered up all of the time?

No, it's not an issue if the unit is continuously docked, but ... it's a portable!

A portable that can potentially drain the battery without your knowledge.
