Default License Expired: The file can't be played..

I just started getting "License Expired: The file can't be played. Please connect this device to your PC and update the licenses for your subscription music."

Im new to the playforsure deal but WTF!? I have been using Rhapsody prior to the stiletto and I love it, I was super happy about the stiletto being able to use rhapsody.

I know I have plugged the stiletto into an authorized PC with my rhapsody account many times less then 30 days ago. Now I am trying to 'update the licenses' but it doesnt seem to be doing jack shit. I cant tell if its Rhapsody (im running the newest version) or if its the stiletto. Damn it!!!!

It's Rhapsody. Can it still play inside Windows?

Default Pay Service

I have the Napster service and this happened to me. All I had to do was to connect my Stiletto to the computer via usb, launch Napster and resync. This apparently updated my licensing and songs played again. I had apparently gone about two weeks without connecting to my computer. These services must only provided limited life licenses so if you discontinue their service you can no longer listen to the music. Try reconnecting and resync and see what happens.

seahawks80 will become famous soon enough

I've also had this happen with the Yahoo Music Engine and other PFS-enabled mp3 players (I'm only using the Stiletto for Sisius content). All I've had to do to get the tracks working on my mp3 player again is:

1) attach the mp3 player to the pc with a usb cable
2) launch the Yahoo Music Engine
3) play a downloaded song in your Yahoo Music Engine library (i.e. a song that works and has a current license)

With the Yahoo Music Engine, once you do that, the license files on your connected mp3 player get updated as well. A similar sequence might work for Napster as well.

Hope that helps!

For the love of God, STOP supporting DRM sites!
Let the mighty dollar send the message that DRM is bunk!

Well I am not anti DRM, but certainly it would be nice if we just did away with it. None the less I have a Yahoo subscription and I never have this issue, but Yahoo makes it clear that you do have to connect your device ever so often to keep them license current. If you do this there is never a problem. I recently go the SanDisk Sansa Connect and I don't have to worry about connecting cables to keep it authorized, it does that automatically while connected via Wifi.
