Default PC Doesn't Recognize Stiletto

Just when I thought all of my problems were being resolved, I have a new one. When I plug the Stiletto into my computer, the PC does not recognize the Stiletto and it does not show up in MSS. Yahoo also does not recognize it. I even uninstalled and then reinstalled MSS, but nothing changed.

Has anyone else had this problem or have an idea of what the problem is and how to fix it?

One of the other posts talked about which versions of Windows Media Player that were compatible, making sure that .Net was installed properly, etc.

Which versions of everything are you using?

Were you able to connect before?

Actually, the weird thing is my PC does recognize there is a new device being added as it makes that ping sound and gives me the option to connect to another device. But the Stiletto does not show up on the right hand side and the Stiletto doesn't appear on YMJ. So it seems in one way my computer does recognize that there is a new device being added but in another way doesn't recognize it.

Can anyone explain this?

I was able to connect before. I did connect to the Windows Media player intead of Yahoo earlier today for the first time, but I don't think that would make a difference, would it?

It's Windows Media version 10.00, by the way.

Yes, I probably should have mentioned that it's always powered on when I attempt to connect.

Default Problem Fixed

It looks like my problem is fixed. I installed the new version of Microsoft Media Player (version 11.00) and now it recognizes the Stiletto.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Whew am I relieved.

For future reference I'll had this problem and corrected it by uninstalling the MTP driver in Windows Device Manager, restarting the PC, then reinstalling MSS without attaching the Stiletto via the USB cable. After the install, open MSS and then attach the USB. Should be smooth sailing from then on. At least it was in my case.

Glad you're connected again.

For winks and giggles, can you check to see if you can stream music through your MSS now?

It still can't get past the "connecting" stage.

Streaming music thru MSS would have been too good to be true.

I don't think that the problem is just limited to your computer. Hopefully the SIRIUS tech wizards will fix this soon.

It's not limited to just my computer. No one has been able to connect to the internet using MSS since last week.

It's must amazing that the problem has lasted this long.
