I thought this happened to me once so I waited a few minutes and the dots under the dog started moving again.

I say pull battery, wait 5 minutes, put battery back in, and start up. Maybe you will get lucky!

Good luck. I would hate for this to happen!!!

I've tried countless times by re-booting and even switching batteries....All I get is dog.

It's just ..............DEAD.

What happens when you remove and replace the battery. You say you only see the dog. How many of the dots move or do any of them.

Can you connect to the PC? I'm thinking if you can then I might move over a firmware file to have it reset itself. If you can plug it into your PC get the file out of the Demo directory of the CD. Drag that file over to your DATA folder. Then Power off and Power back on.

If it does not connect to PC. You might call support. Ask them if there is some key sequence to reset the unit. If they tell you one Please report back to this forum all the diagnostic that they tell you.

Thanks and good luck!

Regardless of what you do, you should swap it out as was suggested to you when you first mentioned you were having freeze up, because I've only read a couple of others say they were having this issue.

But I think what mike and others were trying to get you to do was for technical reason to see what the Stiletto would do in trying to recovery itself, but you don't seem to be willing to participate in the process.

I was hoping that it might be something simple as the system hung because the memory drive was full. Connecting it to MSS would at least tell us if the backend was alive and the GUI was only effected.

We do know that this radio does multitask well as while in sleep mode it records. While Playing recordings it can do a recording, so I thought maybe that it just might of disapbled the gui to allow for MSS or something to go in and delete some songs.

I was hoping that Sirius would of given her a special key sequence to allow to see some stats and maybe go to the Reset in the settings.

I certainly understand the frustration of it being broken and if it is broken get it replaced, but I also want to make sure that this is something that we all may need to understand someday as it is an issue, just not known yet.

In looking back at Wowzers posts, I believe she, I think she's a she. was concerned about cc protection plan and eventually bought one.

With that in mind, and the stock now on the shelves, she could return it now because it has issues. Also given that probably it is less than 30 days she could just outright return it and buy another one.

In any case I'll be happy to diagnose it with the rest of the forum, but a quick call to support is in order here.

It won't be any problem at all with the protection plan you purchased. You just may want to make sure your local store has stock. They will exchange it for a brand new one. Then you just call SIRIUS and do a receiver swap.

I bought my Stiletto from 6th Avenue Electronics and they never even offered me any type of warranty. I'm abit worried now. Is there a 1 year manufacturer's warranty?

Glad it worked out for you. I think you'll probably find with this new one you won't see the freezing up ETC. I think your unit was defective from the get go.
