Default Stiletto Ordered from Sirius.com-Soloist Report

I took the plunge and ordered Stiletto and took Sirius.com's election day discount. Saved $60.00 with the free shipping. Also purchased Directed Soloist dock from Target. Mixed emotions about it.
First good luck putting the button battery in the bottom of the dock. It's a trick to close the compartment lid. I finally suceeded by using a knife with a pointed end.
Second in order to switch back and forth between the Stiletto and Ipod you have to unscrew a very small screw (Phillips head) and slide the dock connector to the right for Stiletto and reinsert the screw in the right side. What a pain ! I set it for the Stiletto and will leave it that way.
Right now I am listening to an Inno through the line in jack.
The sound is very good IF you experiment with the equalizer settings, bass boost off/on etc. although for $150 it's a little over priced for sure.
I have an $85 pair of Monitor Audio powered speakers that would blow it right off the shelf.
Part of its appeal is the small footprint and shallow depth. It also looks cool. Should look even better with Stiletto docked.
Overall I would say 3 1/2 stars for now. Maybe it will grow on me.

My battery snapped right into place, no problem whatsoever, but it was indeed tight. I also use my Soloist with the Stiletto and iPod interchangeably for the last month. You do not have to use the screw on the Stiletto docking base, it just snaps in place just as the iPod docking base does. You'll just have to keep a finger on the base as you lift off the Stiletto, which is no big deal compared to having to removing a screw. However, the more I've used it I found the easier it is to remove the Stiletto from the dock.

I think for just a speaker system there are many other options better than the Soloist. But the for the sleep mode, music mode, alarm clock feature, as well as providing the ability to play multiple Sirius tuners and the iPod. The sound is darn repectable for the footprint of this unit. The two weak points are the LCD display and remote, nothing that you can't live with, but they are weak.
