Default S100 "blue flame" display issue.

OK - so my S100 works great so far but I have a display issue - first - a little pressure in the upper left corner (while cleaning) I noticed the dreaded "LCD fade" from my finger tip. That being said - I tuned to Stern and noticed the "blue flame" background graphic was strung through the stern wallpaper - kind of like a blue smudge. Is this standard?

It seems to happen to all of them. (Even the ones in the advertisements.)
I think it's an artifact caused by the antenna, but that's just a WAG based on a absolutely no technical information.

This happens on my device too. Both in Sat. and WIFI mode. I don't know if it happens in listening to MP3's but it probably does.

I have complained about this and they have told me that is just how the wallpapers are. I tried to make the case that the blue background was fading over on top of the background. I was quickly told this is by design and that they all do it. I can verify now having messed with about 4 different units that they all in fact do this. I still think it is bleed through from the background over on top of the wallpaper. Apparently we are going to have to live with it.

I agree that we'll have to live with it. If it could have been fixed I'm sure it would have.

I can't accept that they "meant to do that". It sounds like Pee Wee Herman when he flipped his bike.

I keep the screen brightness pretty low, si I hardly ever see it and as long as I can't hear it. . . . .

Well, you'll have to accept it, because they did in fact mean to do it.

This one keeps bugging me. . . .
How do you know that they meant to have that streak?
Are you in with some of the designers? It doesn't serve a graphic design purpose. . . . Are you just pulling my antenna?

I've taken graphic design and industrial design courses and I just can't see where this could be a conscious design decision.

Like I said before, it doesn't really bug me that it's there, as long as I can't hear it. Curiosity is just getting the best of me.

I have indeed talked to the engineers and YES that is how it was designed. I don't like it myself and think it takes away from the Wallpapers. The claim is that the blue is actually designed into the wallpaper. I told them I didn't think so, but eventually it was proven to me, so that is that. Also if you notice any picture of the Stiletto has that blue showing... One thing for sure is that they could change it if they felt it was something they wanted to change.

Well alrighty then. You are the man with the contacts.
Still sounds like the Pee Wee Herman defense to me, but I'll take the message as they tell it and move on.

Thanks.
