It will work, but it requires that you remove the battery (or modify it to work with the battery) in order for it to dock, which is not the most ideal situation. I remember there being a warning put out that you could actually break the connector using this dock with the Stiletto too. I personally don't recommend it. I know we had members that used it when they couldn't get home docks, but I am just not sure the risk are worth it.

Thanks for the quick reply! I guess I'll have to wait for the home dock. Does anyone know when this will be out in Canada?

Hey Chazzy, I just wanted to let you know that last night, I set several programs to record and just keep picking up when they were done and it did not work, so it looks like the home dock is on the way. Luckily, I got that $30 gift card from crutchfield with my purchase. I love sirius and would never give it up for XM, my girlfriend has XM in her Armada and it blows. Hell, maybe another car kit too for that ride as well.

Hey Jason.. thanks for the tips. I tried the same thing as well, but haven't gone to my car to see if it worked or not yet.

DAB, I see what you are saying.. and in fact I bought the home kit yesterday as well.. and I will surely be moving the device from my car to my home each night and back, as soon as I set it up.

I wanted to express my displeasure at the situation, because I would like Sirius to take it seriously (pun intended) that a good number of us would like to record shows in the car overnight or throughout the day.

I know that this board is not Sirius.. but I did want to get the word out there somehow that we would like to have a feature that I thought was already on the device and is not mentioned in the manual (that it doesn't work). And I was hoping that through some sort of osmosis.. this displeasure would make it back to someone at Sirius:-) I already expressed my displeasure with the lady at tech support, this was the last place I was going to vent.

Now I'll go back to enjoying the rest of my Stiletto:-)

I just got off the phone with tech support and they said they were not aware of any dissatisfaction with the auto-off feature of the Stiletto. She did say they have meetings to share feedback however, so anyone who doesn't like the vehicle dock auto off feature should call in to complain about it. The person I spoke with seemed to think it COULD be changed with a future software update IF they hear enough negative comments about it. The Stiletto tech support # is 800-869-5364.

Is there another way to voice our displeasure? I'm not going to sit on hold for an hour just to vent to some drone who won't even pass on my thoughts. Is there a way to email someone who gives a shit?

To be honest, with the short life of each sirius radio product, we rairly see enhancements only showstopper bug fixes.

I think I would invest in a Home dock which does not have this issue. Voice your opinions here in the forums, through email to sirius, maybe with a letter to directed and Zing. I don't have much hope for these fixes with the current product. I'm sure next September when the next sirius portable is released we might see those features incorporated.

Would anyone know if a device like this hooked up to the stilletto in the car would let it come out of sleep mode to record? (I can get a signal if I put it on the dash while I'm inside at work). I'd like it to record stuff while Im in work so i can listen on my ride home.

No, this is one of the primary beefs a lot of subscribers have is that the tuner will not wake up while in the car dock.

It would be good if we could start a petition thread to let Sirius know that we want the ability to wake up from sleep and record shows in the car.

I know this board is not an official Sirius board.. but maybe it would get to them somehow?

Better than that, show in the Stiletto Support Chat and make your feelings known then. I can't encourage folks enough to do this.

Stiletto Chat Jan 15 @ 9:00 EST.

There will be a time in which we will be asking about requested features.

Be There!!!

This would be hooked up directly to the Stilletto, not the dock. So it would be like being plugged into a wall at home directly (without dock). Would it wake up then??

Yes hooked up to just AC power and no dock, it would indeed wake up. I have tested this and mind did. Though I don't have a repeater here, so it didn't record because there was no signal. But I did my test outside and it worked like a champ.

Another bug- back to back recordings do not work in the car dock. I have tried repeatredly, but the second recording stops after only 15 seconds. thought I could circumvent the whole sleep issue by just setting concurrent recordings, but apparently not.
