Default Recording Stern with a car dock. 3am to 9am (pt)

It wont go to sleep while its recording,
at around 10 pm You have to press a button on the stiletto to show it some activity, so you now have 4 hrs to start a recording before it goes to sleep, just schedule it to start recording at 1am for a 6 hr session to 7am, hopefully by then your up to push a button again to record the rest of the show, its a pain but it works for overnight recording.

I'm wondering if we can just unplug the power going into the car dock and put that directly into the stiletto. Maybe with the unit on the dash the internal antenna will pick up a signal, and then the unit will wake up from sleep to record. I'm gonna go see if this works.

I read this entire thread and no one has mentioned how the unit knows whether it is in a home dock or car dock... it can only power on dc voltage, be it through an invertor or direct dc from a car battery. It may just be a simple jumper or resistor in the connector that we could fake out so that it thinks its in the home dock. any thoughts???

In the settings-->device-->device info there is a line that says dock and has a number. The home and car dock have different numbers...so the Stiletto knows.

yes, but how does it know? there may just be a resistor or jumper across two pins on the dock to identify it as a home or car dock.

Could be something written into the software.

I'm just guessing.

Default Update for sleep disable

How do you disable sleep in the Stiletto? I'm still having the same problem where the unit does not turn on to record.

I called Sirius, got a new unit and then they said it is a new update that takes care of this issue (something like ZAP 1.10). MSS says there's no update available.

Can anyone resolve this issue (been dealing with it since December).

The current ZAP/OS does not allow for the sleep mode to be turned off. I certainly do hope when they release this new version 1.1 ZAP/OS update that it will indeed include the ability to display the sleep mode.

There is suppose to be a ZAP/OS update coming, but who knows when?
