Default Returning the Soloist

Ok, just wanted to let you guys know that I am returning the soloist which was delivered yesterday. Not a fan at all. Looks like the unit was put together in about a day and they are just pushing something out there. I am going with the Executive System instead.

I had a wonderful time trying to get open the battery compartment on the remote, also.

To me it serves me well, The executive system is just an amp and speakers and remote with presets. It has no sleep timer, no alarms. That is why I like the Soloist.

The issues are the clock display is crap, the remote is crap. I have no other alternative. Although, lately I've been checking out some clock radio's that have MP3 inputs that would give me the clock and sleep timer capability. I would use another home dock to connect to it. That might be a better answer.

That cradle, I mean, there are ways to make it so much more user friendly. Trying to put that screw in was so time-consuming. I really dont like putting forth negative commentary, but hopefully the manufacturer could take some of our feedback and make some enhancements. I guess, the first of anything is not perfect.

First of all the screw isn't necessary, I have never installed it on mine, so that is really a non-issue from my experience. I simply push my finger on the docking base as I pull up the tuner. Now that I've been using it awhile I don't even think I have to put my finger on it.

I totally disagree with your assessment of the quality of this unit and I think once you get the Executive System and hear the SQ on it (unless they dramatic improved it over the current S50 version), you'll have a full appreciation for the Soloist. I also agree with Mike, no sleep timer, no music mode, no alarm clock, those are the reasons I got the Soloist. If you have no need fo those things, then there are many other speaker systems that will do the job, much better than the Soloist or Executive System with a home kit.

I understand that not everyone likes the Soloist, but I do, I think it does a great job for the small footprint that it offers. I have used it a lot not only with my Stiletto, but my iPod as well. My only issue with it is the remote, but like any device this thing is far from perfect.

Default Returned Mine Also

I just got home from returning my soloist at Best Buy. I have a set of Klipsch powered speakers that I even tried to run off the Soloist aux out and it even made them sound bad. I just run into the speakers now for a great sound. Suppose I will wait and get a home dock as I did for the S50. Not a big fan of these products from Directed : /
