Default Stiletto 10 in WalMart ad for Sunday

I noticed in the WalMart ad (South of Atlanta Ga. area) for Nov. 12 it has the Stiletto 10 listed for $246.74 I know WalMart has a lot of pull but my store doesn't carry much at all for Sirius so it's hard for me to believe this.

Oh well, we will see Sunday. Maybe my wife won't notice when I slip it in our shopping cart. Yeah right!

I'm looking at that ad right now too. I think a lot of people will buy the 10. $100 less. I think that the people that come to this board to post on the forums (myself included) are the hardcore sat. fans that follow it alomst like a sport. We car about how many subscribres Sirius has, what chipset the receivers are on and where the stock is and what Howard Says about ______.
Most people are not like us. They'll see this cool looking Sirius device and and either buy it and become a new subsriber or buy it as a replacement for an original sportster or Starmate that they have.

I wanted to buy the 10 but I couldn't wait any longer and for the extra features that the 100 offers for the extra 100 bucks is well worth it. As a Sirius stockholder I am hoping that between the sales of the 10 and 100 that Sirius' subscription goes through the roof.

I had my wife buy me a Sirius radio in September '05 as an early Christmas present because I thought there would be a shortage of Sirius radio's which there was. I am expecting the same to happen with the Stiletto's, hence my early Christmas present yet again hehe.

I believe in Sirius and what they have to offer and so should everyone else.

Say what you will about Wal-Mart but judging by the fact that they are not only carrying the Stiletto 10 but also supporting it with National Advertising, we pretty much have to assume that this product will be a good sales performer. Wal-Mart doesn't really stock too many products that don't sell well. Also, since they are worlds largest retailer, we can also probably assume that there will be a TON of stock on the Stiletto 10. Wal-Mart would not be pleased if they carry this item but can never get any in stock. You must never anger the Wal Mart gods. Never.

If my S50 dies again I may replace it with the S10...if it's more stable that is.

i agree with you varges to me the 10 is crap but to someone else it could be prefect . I check this board everyday and it has grown to me like a sport. So lets get these radios in people hands i want to see xm begging sirius to buy them out. Also my whole thing was not about walmart i like walmart my whole thing was about the 10 vs 100 to me the price of wifi is worth a $100 never alone the storage

The 10 looked great until I realized it can only store 10 hrs of recorded shows. That's not nearly enough for me. I usually have 5 or so Stern and 5 or so Bubba shows recorded at any given time.

our local Walmart has always had XM and/or Sirius and the normal course is the
initial display is set up and when the stuff sells out .. it sits empty untill the next
big thing comes out .. sometimes they will have both XM/Sirus other times
only one or the other .. ... but I have never seen or heard of anyone buying one there ..and the sales clerks havent either .. they told me they have had a lot of returns though
but somebody buys them

I dont' know of anyone that has bought Sirius or XM from wal mart either. But it seemed like in the past they always had the out of date product. I was just there and they had a million Xact Replays. However, it seems like this trend is changing because they were first to have the Sportster 3 and they also have the newer stratus. As far as XM product, they have the Inno, the Helix and some others. So they seem to be getting the newer radios now and that should help sales. But when I think of buying Satelitte Radio, I first think CC, then Best Buy.

I think Walmart only buys in large bulk or X amount at a time. They definitely seem to only carry the knock off. Spitster Replay or some crap.

You do, but Walmart for many people in rural areas are for the most the BB or CC of the area. Most people aren't as gun-ho about buying Sat Radio and won't travel miles to get one. But if they are available at Walmart they will buy them. Most people would probably be shocked to know how much auto electronics Walmart sells. I have personally seen people not only shopping but buying Sat Radios at Walmart. The people on the sales floor don't know anything about them, but they do indeed sell them. Right now they have the Stratus and Sportster 3 with plenty stock, including boomboxes and home kits.

I've also noticed that Walmart is now selling GPS devices too. Strange I remember the first day I seen the display... they had probably 10 or 12 of each and when I was there on Friday they only had a couple of each left. So the are apparently selling those too.

My local Walmart in NC had a couple of the S10's in stock when I was there today. So it looks like they're rolling into the Walmarts now, just in case anybody was interested in this particular tuner.
