I know. A few years ago I got rid of a computer that had an 8 gig hard drive and the harddrive itself was as big as a brick. Now any PC with less that 140 gigs is a joke.

I just clicked on my music folder and see that I have 3 gigs of music on this machine. I remember when I bought an Apple laptop with a 2 GB drive back in 1999 I was like, "how the hell will I ever use up 2 GBs??". And congrats on 1,000! I believe you are now a Sirius Star.

Talking

Nope on the Zume for me. Too much invested in iPods in this house.

Daughter 1 Shuffle
Daughter 2 2gb Nano
Daughter 3 4gb Nano
Wife 1 30gb Photo - my hand-me-down
Me 60gb Video and 8gb Nano - I carry around 55gb of music with me. The Nano is for the gym.

My first PC I purchased has a 750mb hard drive. That's some sweet storage!

Long before there were iPods, MP3 players and other type storage and play devices, there were CD's. I collected CD's for many, many years. There is no way in hell SIRIUS can ever provide me the listening pleasure I get from all this music I bought over the years. In fact much of it they don't even play. 30 gigs of music is nothing.. what do you do with it? You listen too. Listening to Pink Floyd for example in gapless playback the way it was created to be listened too. You can't do that with SIRIUS. I also have a lot of ambient/new age music that is the same way.

I love my Stiletto, but it simply doesn't have the ability at this point to totally take the place of my iPod. It is also the very reason I say that SIRIUS and XM are not only competing with AM/FM, but they are also competing with the likes of Apple, Creative, iRiver, Cowan and now the Zune to name a few. People love to be able to play back what they want to hear when they want to hear it. Stiletto can do this, but it is very limited due to the small amount of space offered.

I also disagree with you that MS should stick to OS's. Microsoft should be able to do anything they want too, including hardware. If it were not for Microsoft we'd still have crappy keyboards and mouse. They raised the bar that made the others improve. They will do the same in the MP3 market as well.

You make a very interesting point, DAB. People do not buy and listen to albums anymore, they only buy and listen to songs. This does greatly take away from listening pleasure (dark side of the moon is great one song at a time but listening to the whole album from start to finish is infinitly better).

Steve, I was looking at the Archos 604 WiFI... why don't you do us a review and post it in the Galaxy. I'd love to read the pros and cons of this device. Can you like Stream SIRIUS or XM with the Opra Broswers?

This is all well and good, but I did not have the ability to buy CDws of my music growing up, so the Stiletto will do fine for now recording my 1950ies, 60ies and 70ies music.

The Stiletto I am sure will do fine for many people, at least SIRIUS better hope it does. I could never be satisifed with having DJ's talking over the front of songs and having the end of songs clipped off, which is just what the Stiletto does when using it to record individual songs in many cases.

Clearly there is a place for having a device that records SIRIUS with a lot more storage, this way you could have the best of both worlds. Right now the limited space is to limited, but for many it will be enough. But for others it simply will not.
