Default New Stations

For those of you who have been with Sirius for awhile, how often do they add new stations? Im sure this is more complicated than I think. Ive noticed that there are station numbers unassigned in the listings and am interested as to how that whole system works? Is there a place to find out more about planned or ideas for new stations?

they will generally change a station to another station from time to time.
(same channel number but a differnt thing on the channel)

if they were to add more channels that would take away the quality from the feed.

the only big change on the way that i know of is NASCAR in 2007!

but i think we lose hockey after this season. im not sure on that one.

im sure other members from this forum will be able to help you on this subject.

Boo on the Hockey loss...I thought that would be a good thing to have access to, as Im not a football fan. Too bad that they dont have MLB. I see that is on XM. Isnt it possible for both companies to carry the same stations? I guess thats the competition, and why some people have both.

Thanks for the input..

it is possible to have the same station like a espn news channel on both.
but its more profitable for a company to sign a exclusive deal with one or the other

There has not been a shakeup in the music lineup in a while. I wonder how frequently they look at their line up and decide how it is doing. I'd still like to see an easy listening channel--not Movin' Easy--a piano/guitar channel. Others I'd still like: lounge music (although Standard Time is quite good) and Sporting News Radio. Time will tell I guess.
