I'm in the same boat. I don't see it anywhere.

Maybe it's hidden in MSS until we need it.

Yup. Agreed. I think it is just hidden until we need it. I was puzzled about it. Then I read the user guide via latest MSS. It made more sense once I read it. I sure as long as we hit "finish" during the install process we do have it. It is just 'hidden" in our computers as you said.

On my CD the recovery software is there. You have to look on the CD itself to find it.

It is also available via the web on SIRIUS's web site.

I don't get the next window as outlined. I let this sit all nite and nothing. Can anyone help me! Thanks.

With the latest firmware you need to have the new recovery program that is on the cd installed on your computer. You do also need to be connected to the internet. If you have problems, the Sirius support people can walk you through the process. Maybe someone can post the Phone number here.

I'm having the same issue. I'm connected to the Internets (at least I think I am; I guess if you're reading this then I'm pretty sure I'm connected), but Device Recovery is not recognizing the connection. I've tried the recovery process a number of times and it continues to return the same "Sorry, your PC must be connected to the Internet" message.

In the last lines of my SiriusDeviceRecoveryLog.txt file, there's an error message with "The remote server returned an error", so I wonder if it's a server issue on the other end.

Just got off the phone with Sirius TS and they deny any problem on that end. Looks like we may just have to send em back!

Thanks to the fella that said to look at the log file. i googled Zing and called there tech support. I spoke to a guy name Edward ( very friendly ) and we worked at trying to get this going. This is what we found.

1. Un-install My Sirius Studio and the Recovery Program
2. Reboot PC
3. Install My Sirius Studio from the cd that came with your Stiletto. I know its old but trust me.
4. Plug your Stiletto into the USB port and the recovery program should install the new firmware update, and start your Stiletto.
5. Now Install the updated 1.5 My Sirius Studio.
6. This got me to a usable Stiletto but still no update. Back where I started but better than a brick. I will call Zing back to find out how to get to the newest firware and report back here.

Shame on the Tech Support people at Sirius. I am just some poor schlub sitting at home and I found out what to do with this. Zing said they would take care of the Sirius end and let them know about this. Sirius if you are listening you owe me a Stiletto 2!
5.

Update 8:42 PM

Just got off the phone with Ed at Zing in which he reported the problem was on the server on their end. He tried to get me to update over wifi which it would not. We then tried USB and it updated to the newest version! Zing will check on the wifi update tomorrow but he still recommends that those who are just buying the Stiletto install the old software first, do the upgrade and then install the newest version of MSS until they know more.

I was expiriencing the same problem on my SL100 yesterday. I gave up and decided to retire for the day. Today I tried again after reading your posts, and it worked flawlessly for me as well. BTW, I used the Device Recovery application posted on Sirius's website as I don't have my SL100 software CD.

Thanks for everyone's input!!! You guys ROCK!

Exclamation Important Update On SL100 Recovery!

I just want to correct something that has been said in this thread in regards to the SL100.

The Stiletto 100 Device Recovery 2.0 program obtains the most recent version of the SL100 firmware over the Internet from the Stiletto Service. Due to a temporary glitch, the firmware was not available. The problem has been resolved and you can continue to use the most recent version of Device Recovery (2.0), without having to install an older version of My Sirius Studio/Device Recovery.

Hope this helps those of you that have had issues and now you know you don't have to go back to an older version since the glitch has been fixed. This glitch is also what caused those of you that tried to do the recovery to receive the message; "Sorry, your PC must be connected to the internet in order to recovery your device software"

Thanks,
