Default Stiletto Update Available via MSS or WIFI, Zap: 1.0.2.18248r

I noticed I got an update this morning... here is what I found out. It appears to update the wallpaper, channel icons and voice tags. I am sure it addresses some bugs, but probably will not include any of the things we requested at least not yet. If I get any specifics I will pass them along!

Update via Wifi:
You can see the download happening on the status line in the service info screen. 10%, 20% and then eventually it says complete.

The download can take as much as 10-20 minutes depending on the connection but will happen in the background you can continue listening to Wifi (must remain on Wifi) After 100% download, the device will verify the files and quietly install in the background, this can take a while too. Once it completes the download and install, you'll get a notification updates will take affect after next restart

Update via MSS:
My understanding is if you don't use Wifi you can also do the update via the MSS Software. Connect your Stiletto via USB, start the MSS Software, you should get notified there is an update, if not you can go to Device Setting -> Check For Update. Follow the instructions provided.

Either way you decide to update On completion, the device will have to be rebooted with a hard shut down (by holding the power button down for 8-10 seconds or just removing the battery).

Once you start back up, under Settings -> Device -> Device Info, the following version number can be verified:

New ZAP: 1.0.2.18248r
Old ZAP: 1.0.0.16487r

If you have version 1.0.2.18248r, your Stiletto is now updated!

If I know me_rubin, he will have more photos to add to this thread later today!

MSS:

"There is no software update for your device"

Hmm. I have not connected via Wifi today. Is MSS updating enabled yet?

EDIT: Connected via Wifi and now I see it downloading. Pretty cool!

Hey DAB, this update didn't wipe out any of your Library recordings or Radio Replays did it?

Still didn't add any additional internet radio stations (Sirius Stars, Maxim, etc). Grrr.

My recorded programs are still there.

My update did not wipe out any of my library content or recordings. My understanding is that updates such as this when done over wifi or mss retain all previously saved content.

I read somewhere that the additional channels would follow this update. It's just a matter of time now.

Question

It looks like MSS does not work. I have connected my Stiletto and MSS says there is no update.

Yes DAB I upgraded mine without a hitch. I used the MSS software and it worked perfect the first time. Total upgrade time was approximately 15 minutes.

Prior to the upgrade my unit was at: ZAP 1.0.0.16487r

In the MSS software I clicked the Check for Sofware updates and this screen appeared:

Selecting OK- The software begain downloading...

Once It completed the Transfer Complete dialgue box prompts for an OK.

The Rest happens all on the Stiletto... As a progression From Downloading to Verifying Files to Updating Software to the Update Complete Message. After completing the update I powered the unit off. In my case I just did sleep. I powered back on and it went through the entire Doggie Dots wakeup as though it was shutdown completely.

After the upgrade my unit was at: ZAP 1.0.2.18248r

Thanks DAB for the "Heads Up" I'm not sure what time it was posted. I did check about 1am and it was not posted yet. I did mine about 8am this morning when I saw your post.

So far, I have not seen any difference. It is still working well.

How soon after you connected did it start downloading?
Has anyone been able to download after 3pm ET?

I'm at school now and they use SonicWall's content filter. It's possible that the Stiletto's streaming source is unblocked but their firmware server is blocked, I guess. I'll try at home later tonight.

EDIT- In the Service Info screen, my Status went from "OK" to "Downloading. 21%" It's at 32% now. Yay!

I just went through everything Me_Rubin just did, I used Mss also. It was a smooth process, much better than the S-50 updates! I did mine at around 3:20 pm today. Thanks for sharing the info Dab.

I just checked The vault, and I now have a voice tag for it. I will be checking the other channels that did not have it soon as well. Pretty smooth ride on this update. Im liking it.
