Default transfering music to library

So I have only had my 100 for a couple of days. I'd like to see if any of you can give me some feed back on one or two things. I have been using the yahoo music juke box to transfer my music. My first time using it. Prior to this I always used Itunes. The transfer seems to be pretty slow. Last night it showed 196 songs being transfered. That took 34 minutes to finish. Itunes was always way faster. Shouldn't this transfer be happening much faster ? I just removed some icons from my desktop. I don't know if that will help any. Also after the transfer was complete. I'd open my library. Went in to open the shuffle feature. The bottom right corner of the screen shows 1/74. So it looks like not all the songs transferred. Not even half the songs transfered to the Stiletto. My storage space for library only shows 13 percent. I also got a error that some of the songs have a licensing issue, but last time that was for only twenty of the 196 songs transferring. So my three questions in review. Shouldn't the music be transferring faster ? The amount of songs transferred to 100 does not match the number of songs in the Stiletto library. Why not ? Anyone know how to resolve the liscense issue errors that I am getting. Any feed back you all can offer me would be great. I'm not sure where to get started on this. A side from this my 100 seems to be working great. Hey Now !

I use My Sirius Studio, not Yahoo Music Jukebox, to transfer my music to my Stiletto.

I have tranferred about 100 songs at one time and it only took MAYBE 5-10 minutes.

As for the license issues, I use Napster, not iTunes. When I first copied the music library on my PC to My Sirius Studio, I was prompted to download some kind of license authorization, and that was it. All of my Napster purchased music was able to be transferred to my Stiletto.

I think iTunes had stricter authorization policies, that is, I believe you can only transfer music to your iPod and not another MP3 player. I'm not sure if I'm right about that, but if you are using iTunes, that might explain the number of tracks missing on your Stiletto from the transfer.

I had the same problem with Yahoo liscensing. Some of the songs which I had not only downloaded but purchased previously, suddenly stopped working and I was getting an error message stating that a liscensing agreement was needed. There was nothing I could do to get them back. I believe it's a problem with Yahoo's service. I've had quite a few problems with that service. That would explain why some of the songs you tried to import to your Stiletto did not take. Songs that don't have liscensing agreements will not transfer over. If you haven't purchased the songs, you can delete them from your computer and then download them all over again. It worked for me. Yahoo did refund me for some of the songs that I had purchased, but only the recent ones.

I don't know why your having speed issues. I've had no problems with that kind. My downloads and transfers from Yahoo are pretty quick when I don't run into the liscensing problems.

Default Thanks

I'm kind of making progress. I'm trying to get familar with MSS at this point. I imported directory of my music to the MSS. I have yahoo unlimited to go. When I download a song it appears in my unlimited yahoo jukebox library, but not in my MSS library. Can those songs go to my MSS library. I have not figured out yet how to transfer music from MSS library to my Stiletto. I'm still kind of new at all this stuff. I'd really like to make use of both the MSS, and Yahoo unlimited to go service. Can any of you ease my mind some ?

Vargas, Just use the Ctrl key or Shift to select more than one song and drag it to your stiletto. It's that easy.

Oi Vey. I've been doing it one at a time since I had the S50.

Thanks Rubin, you're a lifesaver. I'm so pissed now. So much time wasted.

well I am up, and running now. I started over from the beginning. Uninstalling all the software. Then reinstalling it again. I left out of the library any music I bought from itunes. Transfering worked much better. At this point I'm using the jukebox with the to go service. I have not messed with MSS to much yet. I will once I start saving some songs from the sat broadcast. What a relief.

As the other post said, CTRL key + click on all the tracks you want and drag to Stiletto or SHIFT + select and drag to Stiletto.

You can also create a playlist. Once the playlist is created, just drag the name of the playlist into the Stiletto. That will transfer all the songs in the playlist to the Stiletto. That way your specific playlist will show up on your Stiletto as well. I like doing this if I want to have a playlist of certain types of music, i.e. rock mix, jazz mix, or just a mix of certain favorite songs.
