Unhappy My Sirius Studio Problems

Been reading a lot of posts about the 'My Sirius Studio' software and it sounds like most every agrees it is pretty useless??

So I'm wondering if I should stop spending the time to get the software to even run on my PC. I've followed all install steps from CD and even uninstalled and download what I understand as the latest and greatest from Siruis' web site.

1. Is it worth the wasted hours I've spent? Yahoo Music Jukebox seems to work fine and recognizes my SL100.
2. The only reason I can see using it is for creating playlists and firmware upgrades, but shouldn't my SL100 get its firmware updates directly from Siruis' sats?
2. Who do I speak with at Sirius that knows anything about the 'My Sirius Studio' software? Is there a forum thread that has tips for trouble shooting the software problems.

I listen online via MSS I like it better than going through the SIRIUS site and streaming from that one.

I think that the MSS software is worth it.

It's easy to check for updates, take care of transfers and playlists, and it's sooo much easier to log into internet streaming. You don't have to go through that whole password & verification nonsense.

The S50 phone suport department are the ones that are supposed to know whats going on with the MSS software.

The 'My Sirius Software' will not run on my PC. When I start the app either by myself or when I identify the app to start when my SL100 is connected to my PC, the app freezes; Task Manager shows 'Not Responding'. Knowthing displays on my desktop; it appears the app is trying to start up, but doesn't get anywhere.

I've been using the Yahoo Music Jukebox just fine; no problems. But, I would like to see what the 'My Sirius Software' app can do for me; I don't really like the Yahoo app.

Did you try all the basic stuff. Battery has juice, and is turned on for MSS to reconize. If so. Make sure usb cable is connected to computer properly. Maybe try a different port. Still not working. Uninstall MSS, then reinstall. Should show small connecting to device window on MSS. Then device will appear under my PC icon on right side of screen. I purchased, and installed everything a few days ago. MSS, and yahoo music both reconize. No problem. If you can't get it to work. Maybe it is a bunk unit, and may need to get another. Good luck

Standard checks first:
Are you running windows XP with sp2
Do you have .Net framework 1.1
Is WMP player installed (no beta versions)

007Bugs
- Yup; I've pretty much done all of that. Someone mentioned upgrading to WMP 11 (not the beta version); think this might help?
- Also about the functionality of the 'My Sirius Software'; does it do an initial scan looking for music/mp3s? I know that if Windows does not see any activity or CPU it will mark a service as 'Not Responding'; this is what I see in my Task Manager once I start the software. Is it possible I need to let the software sit for awhile?
- Normally if an app is going to do any type of scan on your system looking for files (like mp3s) it give you options to do the scan or not. What does the 'My Sirius Software' app look like or do when it first starts on your PC?

Thanks for your help ...

- You need WMP 10. WMP 11 will not work. If you have 11 installed then you have to roll back to WMP 10. See the Stiletto FAQ on that.
- I do not think, MSS does not scan for music/mp3's. Letting it sit there is not going to help.
- Again, as far as I know, MSS does no such thing on PC startup.
